AARO JALKASEN SANOTTAMA KALLAVESJ-LAULU TÄYTTÄÄ TÄNÄ VUONNA 100 VUOTTA

Toiminta Suomen itsenäistymisen puolesta pakotti varatuomari Aaro Jalkasen maanpakoon Kuopiosta. Aaro Jalkanen kirjoitti Kallavesj-laulun sanat vuonna 1916 Fitchburgissä, Yhdysvalloissa, tietämättä silloin voiko hän enää koskaan palata kotiin. Laulussa kuvattu kotiseuturakkaus ja kaipuu lapsuuden onneen vetoavat yleimaailmallisina tunteina meihin jokaiseen.

Dokumentti kertoo Rauhalahden kartanon pojan Aaro Jalkasen värikkään elämäntarinan. Erillisissä kertomuksissa kuvataan savolaisten kotiseuturakkautta, kalastusta, kaunista Kallavettä. Käydään syvällä Suomen kulttuurihistoriassa: mistä on saatu malli Akseli Gallen-Kallelan Sammon taonta-taulun seppä Ilmarisen isovarpaaseen? Kaipuustaan lapsuuden onnelaan kertoo New Yorkissa syntynyt Carita Sztybel-Stokes, Kuopiossa vaikuttaneen lääninlääkäri Hugo Hublinin tyttärentytär. Tämä on "lauletaan yhdessä" elokuva, eli elokuvan lopussa lauletaan Kallavesj Haapaniemen koulun 6 B:n laulun kaikuessa taustalla.

Hunt for the Lost Brewster is a gripping and poignant documentary about the only extant Brewster Model 239 fighter plane. This example, designated as BW-372, crashed into a lake after aerial combat in 1942. Viewers see and hear Finnish Brewster pilots commenting on the American type and are privy to footage of search and recovery operations.

Marja Lampi established Tellus Tops Films because she felt it was important to record the story of Brewster BW-372 for posterity. Marja has additionally authored a related book with Vladimir Prytkov. Ms. Lampi holds a MA degree (literature, media communications, history, sociology) in from the University of Helsinki.

Anna Kulicka-Soisalon-Soininen
director, scriptwriter


Anna Kulicka-Soisalon-Soininen, a MA from University of Warsaw (media studies, English philology), has worked in Polish media and televison for several years before moving to Finland. In 1980 - 1990 she worked as an assistant producer for NBC and BBC in Poland. Since 2007 she has made several documentaries for YLE TV 1.

Sanna Liinamaa
editor, director



Sanna Liinamaa has graduated (editing and directing) from Tampere University of Applied Science. She studied these subjects also in St Petersburg State University. She is a very sought -after editor and has won several prices for her works in European and Finnish film festivals.

Nadezda Pojasnik
cameraman, director



St Petersburg origin Nadezda Pojasnik finished Helsinki University of Applied Science Stadia, audiovisual communications, specializing in camera shooting. As either cameraman or a director she has made several short documentaries shown in YLE TV 1.
