Pasagi has been selected the designer of Indonesia's Guest of Honour Pavilion at Frankfurt BookFair 2015 through a national open competition held in June 2014.
As the Guest of Honor of Frankfurt Book Fair 2015, Indonesia will showcase its rich and diverse literary and cultural heritage, traditional and contemporary, to Germany, Europe, and the world.
The theme, 17,000 Islands of Imagination, presents an ambiance and images suggestive of an archipelagic world, Indonesia, a country linked by seas, shaped by a chain of volcanic histories, mold by a narrative of nationhood. The design of the pavilion uses rows of lanterns in colors of the seas hung from the ceiling to define spaces and represent the image of the Indonesian archipelago.

PAM Archicentre, The Three Stonor Architectural Ideas Competition, 2010
Jury’s Comment: “The proposal makes strong statements on green issues at conceptual level, including designing the front plaza around existing banyan tree and making the breezeway the heart of the building, rising from ground to roof”
This scheme is an entry to The Three Stonor Architectural Ideas Competition held by PAM (Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia, Malaysian Architects Association) in 2010. The entry, awarded Honorary Mention, was submitted jointly by Pasagi Designworks and ASK Sdn. Bhd.
The object of the competition is to find innovative, environmentally sustainable and economically viable solutions to the development of PAM Education Fund's property on No. 3, Jalan Stonor, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The competition brief calls for an ArchiCentre, a combination of exhibition spaces, auditorium, galleries, commercial, and office spaces as well as PAM’s own office. The design shall achieve Green Building Index (Gold) or better.
The site is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, within walking distance from the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). The site is lushly vegetated with old hardwood trees while the neighbourhood retains some air of the city’s colonial past.
The proposed design seeks to engage the context and the larger environment by integrating the building with existing trees that figure prominently at the site. The deep integration is aimed at improving the building’s thermal performance and enhancing our experience and awareness of nature in the city. The concept was translated into several strategies:
Preserving the site’s character by retaining and utilizing for public use, most of the much loved old trees.
Maintaining total volume of green biomass by providing in the building, the same amount of biomass taken up by the building.
Double-skinned ventilated façade with internal envelope for watertightness and external layer for shading and energy-producing photovoltaic panels.
