Why Not har i snart to tiår vært et ledende byrå i England, kjent for sitt typografiske og eksperimentelle uttrykk og sitt brennende engasjement for faget.

Falling in love with Type
Sometime during my education I fell in love with type, or should I say language. It has been a long and lasting love affair. But rather than limit me, this love affair has lead me to work for a wide and varied catalogue of clients, on projects than range in size and scope from tiny postage stamps to installations the size of a football pitch. From print to television, from animation to built environments, via books, magazines and corporate identity. The common theme uniting all this diversity is a love of type and language.

Why Not Associates
Shortly after leaving the Royal College of Art in 1987 David formed the multi disciplinary design group Why Not Associates with fellow graduates Howard Greenhalgh and Andy Altmann. In over 20 years of experience David has worked on projects ranging from exhibition design to postage stamps via advertising, publishing, television titles, commercials, corporate identity and public art. Why Not Associates clients include the Royal Academy of Arts, Malcolm Mcclaren, Pompidou Centre, Royal Mail, Nike, Paul Smith, Virgin Records, Antony Gormley, BBC, Channel 4 and the Tate Modern.
