I was asked to put together a small site for local Nashville band The Privates in support of their newest effort, an EP entitled Motion. The release was being put out by a friend of mine at Theory 8 Records and I considered myself a fan of the band so, despite having a freelance plate of work that was already too large, I agreed to the project. I always try to make a bands site reflect their artwork in some way but the Motion EP is comprised entirely of black and white concentric circles - not exactly web friendly or a compelling color palette.

I did my best with the materials provided and think the site turned out pretty well. It's not going to win any design awards but I think the full background image waveform / whole-site-as-mp3-player gimmick is pretty clever and well done if I do say so myself.
