Johor Art Farm
Malaysia has been trying so hard to leverage the southern district to match what Singapore offers
in many issues to attract new investors: urban development, real estate development, leisure zone development,
and new economic district development.
By the way, Singapore is parted from Malaysia in 1965. And with its super small area,
just 710.2 square kilometers, of the nation makes Singapore to not own any original cultures.
But the statistic recently shows that Singapore create the most value in art auction in South-East Asia region.
With new economic planning along with its originally beautiful nature in Johor Bahru,
new architectural program is created to support the ‘environmental art’ which is a sustainable art movement today.
And the concept of the new program is to use its nature to create new art style
and create new alternative energy use also.

Vigan, Philippines Heritage Homeowner's Preservation Manual
Status: completed

The Heritage Homeowners’ Preservation Manual is a useful component our heritage conservation program.
It takes us a step further by making us understand better not only the significance of our place and its setting,
but also the nature and special care required to maintain the various elements of our ancestral houses
which make them unique, special and environment-friendly.
This manual also helps us rediscover the genius and artistry of our forefathers, thus enhancing our
pride of ownership and sense of responsibility.
By making us aware of our distinct historic properties, this manual can stimulate us to make creative use of
unutilized spaces within our properties, thereby encouraging investment, job creation,
enhanced social environment.
The publication also pays homage to our fiestas and festivals, traditional arts, crafts, and local delicacies.

Sila Evason Hideaway, Samui, Thailand (On going)
Walkway, Swimming pool & Sunbath Deck Design
(Department of ARCHITECTURE Co.,Ltd.)

Sila Evason Hideaway, a five-star resort in worldwide, has finished its first construction phase in 2004, and
it has been awarded one of the 116 best new hotels of the world voted
by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine’s readers.
/ (1 of 1)

In the following construction phase, there are many development processes in common area, main restaurant,
dining terrace, swimming pool, etc.
I took responsibility in these development processes by working on physical study models and drawings
to create new architectural programs in the area between restaurant and swimming pool.

Designing in the expansion section of the project by working on experimental models and drawings
before creating the construction drawings.

iCassette (Completed)
Cassette is a junk created from ‘cultural changes’ in which it changed the way we listen to music into digital content.
Cassette is outdated and considered as useless piece of junk.

Traveled throughout all the giant pile of junk in Bangkok to find the cassette and creating its system to develop
into architectural function.

/ (1 of 1)

This project tried hard to metaphor this ‘junk’ into architectural functions by developing module system from it.
Find its movement system and its effects from wind and lighting.
This system can somehow create an interesting partition and rooftop in any architecture.

How to ‘read’ the system from waste materials.
How to work so damn hard in a week and just get some rest by taking a short nap and eat some snacks!!

Up in the Air
The interactive balloon surface.

Interactive design defining new spaces in Happy New Year party by using a huge surface balloon which allows people to interact with it by remote control, making it change its color. The surface balloon also acts like a fluid background for animation show and acts like an equalizer illustration showing how loud the music is as in most music player programs.

6 Finalists The New Thai Police Box Competition
The police should stand aside the people. But in this modern context, it seems the police can’t contact with the people much.
This project was to create a new Thai police box under the concept that the police should contact with people easier than before. The police box contained a wall that acts like a screen for a projector inside the police box. And this ‘wall’ will display some texts or some sentences to contact with the passing by people in real time.

Farang-ner Hostel (Commission)
This premium-grade hostel is a renovated building in Chiang Mai downtown which perfectly combines local culture and western culture together. This hostel is, not only an accommodation, to make new experiences of how people live under the same architectural spaces in the concept of ‘socialize’.
Its design provides enjoyable use of the spaces.
The spaces are such flexible to support different kind of activities from users.
This ‘gimmick’ offers new experiences of accommodation. The entire gimmick came from an intensive research on hostel users with age around 20 - 30 years old.

Worked as ‘alone architect’ in a small team consisted of developers, chefs, and interior designers and taken responsibility in concept and theme development, brand identity creating, architectural designing, interior designing, art directing, graphic designing, marketing analysis, construction management, and even construction permission asking from local government.

March-April 2007

The World War II had been suffering people in Hiroshima and also in the whole Japan for 65 years. The pain forced Japanese people to help rebuild their nation to be one of the strongest nations in the world today. Unfortunately, the globalization in this modern day has erased the spirits of the nation out of Japanese young generation.
The daily lives of Japanese people are contained with extremely stress. Its people seem to forget the spirits of the nation. They just want to work as hard as possible to gain money and success rapidly. Everyday they have to get to their offices by using super crowded mass transportation with such hurry. This mess makes the young Japanese forget how to live a peaceful life with other people. These reasons cause the process of urban reading to create new architectural program that will encourage Japanese people to get back in touch with the past in positive way and to chill themselves out before going to offices.
The recall is presented through spaces with variety of materials such as raw concrete and bark glass. The tighten space, its silence penetrating in complicated context, and the light at the end of the space help enlighten people who enter it.

The party you've been counting down all year for has finally arrived! The Bed Supper Club's 6th birthday is celebrating with a twist, turning back the clock to the 'Blade Runner-esque' experience of George Orwell's '1984', the classic tale depicting life
in a grim, totalitarian society in which individuals are watched 24/7 by surveillance cameras. This dark tone will serve as a fascinating contrast to the creation of what will be an extremely bright occasion.

Worked as an architect assistant for Mr. Sebastien Wierinck by taking responsibility in construction and installation process. The work was under tight schedule and sometimes came up with so many urgent problems such as ‘translating’ complicated construction drawings into physical installation and some electricity problems.

The Cell
The logistics theory saying about how fast you can transport your goods makes its point of why we have to develop the transportation system to support that theory.
Bangkok industrial area on the river side has potential to distribute goods to all over Bangkok. A new habitable bridge connecting the industrial area to the old bridge, which forced the transportation to run annoyingly through residential area, is needed to solve a population problem in the area.
/ (1 of 1)

A new habitable bridge will provide residential spaces under its construction in beautiful hexagon shapes. This also represents a new way of living and logistics theory.
Seems like it the first time I have to create new architectural program by combining architectural theory with economics theory, and I had to work on the final model in such a huge scale around 2 meters long.
