Other Earth Artifacts II / HVAC
Tentative Architecture of Coastline Inhabitants of Other Earth_
This rare artifact from Other Earth tentatively behaves similar to HVAC systems in brick and mortar buildings we occupy in our dimension of Earth. Using shape memory alloys and galvanic skin response sensors, the sweater responds to it's wearer by mimicking their breathing--breathing being the natural HVAC behaviour of our bodies--and therefore aiding in regulating the environment of the wearer.
This project was done in collaboration with UCLA PhD student Joshua Hernandez (electronics) and a generous supply of muscle wire from Dynalloy. Photography by Christopher O'Leary.
