The Wazo Design Institute is an idea incubator – a facility that provides communities with training in product development.

Wazo is Swahili for “idea” and we’re asking for help in fostering life-changing ideas with the Wazo Design Institute. By teaching product development and design thinking, the eventual goal of WAZO is to have communities be self-managed by its participants – fostering financial and social empowerment. Acting as both facilitator and a guide, Wazo can assist Kenyan locals in creating products that can be both produced and afforded in their community. They can then use the sucess to build a larger business in neighboring and global markets.
