The chair I found curbside, with a broken leg, and a missing spindle. But it was charming, so I brought it home. Later I decided that the fractured front leg was too far gone, and that I would have to amputate. I fashioned a prosthetic from aluminum, and included two stretchers.
The leg and two stretchers were designed as a kit of parts, capable of replacing the front leg of most dining chairs. All of the parts are adjustable, and the treatment is topical.
