This is a series of photos taken in Stratford, the home of the 2012 Olympic games. As a londoner I am both excited and curious as to how London could be transformed or enhanced by such a high profile spectacle coming to the capital.
With so much money being pumped into a fairly anonymous part of London at such a precarious time for the city I wanted to capture the effect it's having on the community and the 'legacy' it might leave behind.
I wandered the perimeter of the Olympic site following the high walls separating the construction of a sporting mecca from a residential wasteland. I wasn't sure whether the walls were designed to stop the public looking in or to ensure that tourists and excited ticket holders can't see out.
This became the theme for my project. An ongoing documentation of an area in transition. What are we ashamed to show the world? what are we hiding? Who has been forgotten?
These images were all taken before the Olympics began. I am due a visit. I'll following this theme for some time to come
