Hello
My name is Sean Barrett. I like to think of myself as a maker.
Sometimes making is about swinging a hammer, sometime it's about telling a story.
I believe in intelectual roots and sublime outcomes. Have a reason for everything you do, but don't let them get in the way of allowing the process of making to take you somewhere unexpected and amazing. I think I'm at my best when I'm sharing ideas. I love collaborating with creative folks to make something that speaks to people on a personal level.
I've worked in the creative industry for over 10 years for some of the most progressive and professional purveyors of brand. Cutting my teeth at the brand giant Nike before moving to Portland brand powerhouse Cinco Design where I have risen to the role of Creative Director (In charge of brand and marketing communications) over the past six years.
The creative landscape has shifted. The idea of traditional Branding or Advertising is becoming one as brands begin to interact with people from a multitude of dynamic mediums and formats. What won't change is people's desire to connect with and be represented by meaningful and relevant stories.
I wake up each day with the goal of bringing people together through those stories. I try to be brave, honest, and open to new ways of seeing it. I'm not done yet.
