Micro/Macro Typography Workshop 2013
As adjunct tutors in Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore, we noticed that there was a heightened interest from a select group of level students regarding typography and how it could be viewed, used and sculpted.

In response to this observation, we conceptualised and ran a five-day workshop in the month of December 2013 with a group of fourteen students that were keen to hone and develop a deeper sensitivity towards typography and its usage within visual communication.

The nature of the workshop centred around the studio working processes of how we (as a team) planned and developed the typographic form of a project. Each day was process-intensive and participants were encouraged to extensively review, revise and refine their given assignment. The workshop was also comprised of a simple book-binding and production technique segment that allowed each participant to compile and produce their work in a finished form. The final day of the workshop resulted in a mini-showcase of the booklets that were produced by the participants.

All content designed by the students were eventually also compiled into a documentation book that is available for purchase at Lulu.com.
