The nature of this work showcases the danger, absurdity and finally the irrelevance of a utopian ideal. During the exhibition private view, water drips in the frame to destroy the logo and manifesto. A large tube is installed within the frame to slowly release water, gradually eroding the ink on ink-jet transparency. Water reacts with chemicals on the transparency to form a gooey substance. The work hopes to effect a false state of calm, but within every utopia lies its personal dystopia.
The piece on the left was bought by a private buyer at the exhibition. The video shown is the re-enactment of the happening at the private view.
