Tower
Competition: MIT Mini-SkyScraper 2006
Team: Stephen Perdue, Luke Voiland, Jason Cook
Prize: Honorable Mention

The tower design does not scrape the sky, it enables the sky to scrape the earth. The proposal employs the act of construction to mechanistically link human effort with a “sky scraping” ambition. Each builder’s straining movement directly engages structure with sky. Wind gently sways the structure engaging the seated occupant in an ongoing dialogue with the ambient conditions of the sky.
