GALAMBO live [Chile]
Class of '06 Bryan Phillips talks about his new project Galambo and the debut EP Andakoyo, which delves deep into the roots of Chilean and South American music, and places it in a modern day context, while at the same time taking the sound of the club into strange new worlds.

FORKLIFT DRIVER
Forklift Driver are a Japanese influenced six piece dronepunk + noise band from a housing estate near Narre Warren. All band members drive forklifts, except the stripper, who pushes the coffee cart around the factory. They vote ‘no’ to a mining tax even though none of them have any shares, in anything, because it’s Un-Australian. They are very loud. If you’re not in the union you can go to hell.
It’s rumoured the guitarist once voted DLP.

MOUNTAIN BLACK
Martin Kay (aka Mountain Black) is a Melbourne based sound recordist, artist and designer who works with field recordings and cross synthesis processing to create hybrid noise, ambient, music-concrete and drone (electro-acoustic) compositions. His work focuses strongly on the environmental, atmospheric, spatial and textural aspects of sound composition. Greatly inspired by the use of sound in film and anime, Martin draws upon the construction and editing techniques within the soundtrack to produce hyper-real and abstract sonic landscapes.
Working in the realms of live-performance, composition, installation & sound design, Martin’s recent projects include collaborations with sound artists Darrin Verhagen (Shinjuku Thief) and Nick Van Cuylenburg, working on theatre productions with director Daniel Schlusser. Martin has also exhibited, run workshops and performed in Melbourne, Armenia, Georgia, Malaysia and South Korea.
