Client: National Association of Wheat Growers
Responsibilities: Conceptualization, Layout + Design, Icon Design, Image Editing
The National Association of Wheat Growers' previous site had lots of unique content + information, but the site was poorly organized + the interface wasn't very search/reader-friendly. So, Bittersweet Creative was tasked to overhaul the overall look + functionality of their site.
They needed something sharp, clean, simple, professional, classic. Most of their audience/visitors are older, not terribly tech savvy, + probably on slow [if not dial-up] connections. For those reasons, the design really needed to be light-weight—helping with page load time + simplicity for easily discouraged visitors.
The National Association of Wheat Growers is at the forefront of ethanol policy research + is increasingly becoming a major player + resource within the media circles, especially with issues or stories concerning local [US] farmers, renewable energy, etc. So, while catering to their primary constituents + supporters, we also wanted to give them a sharp updated look that will help establish them as 'current' + ahead of the curve on that front.
We launched the site on October 1st, 2009.
