Nahnee Bori Record Release Poster

Fortunately, I knew this poster would be a full-color digital print and not screenprinted, so I was able to go nuts with the textures, color depth and type sizes. I'm pleased with how the watercolor blends turned out despite starting as random blotches on a page.

Nahnee Bori - Place
Digital Album / 12" Vinyl

Designed the vinyl packaging for the full-length album Place from Nahnee Bori. The limited edition 12" record features a great deal of spacey, epic, pop songs. The cover art was meant to evoke a sense of travel, discovery and wonder. That may sound pretentious but there's few comparable feelings to watching the stars or looking through a microscope. Or maybe that sounds pretentious.

I really wanted to do a lenticular version of this but you would be aghast at how much it costs to have a 12"x12" lenticular photo cut, even with just three frames.

Personally, I think it's a phenomenal record and I'm happy with how the entire package came together. This is truly an under appreciated piece of work.

Nahnee Bori - "Iditarod" Digital Single

In preparation for the Nahnee Bori full-length, Place, we released a digital single featuring one of the stand-out tracks and a few remixes of said song.

These little yk records releases are fun - mostly because of the remixes being made by friends.

I designed the cover art and starfield animation. Cody Uhler, aka Nahnee Bori, photographed the wolf used.

http://mercylounge.com

Mercy Lounge is a Nashville based music venue that, typically, hosts the best of the best in terms of bands coming through town. In my opinion, they are the flagship destination for anyone coming to town. It is a great honor to work with them and be given the freedom to create a site for them (and their sibling venues The Cannery Ballroom and The High Watt) that reflects how great of an establishment they are.

I was responsible for the entirety of the site; from the fully responsive frontend design to the custom backend content management tool and API. It was a beast to conquer but I couldn't be more proud of the results.

Uncle Skeleton - All Too Human

Digital Version
Limited Edition Double LP

The third full-length album from Uncle Skeleton and fourteenth for yk records. The double-LP has a bad rep for being overly indulgent but All Too Human has a run time of a scant 108 minutes. The varying sides of the two records span four distinct musical movements. Side A is danceable electronic, Side B is pop and bossa nova inspired, Side C is lo-fi explorations and Side D is ambient musings.

I am happy to have collaborated with Ross Wariner, Uncle Skeleton himself, on conceptualizing the album art and creating a beautiful gatefold record.

The vinyl was printed at Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland, OH. A nicer group of vinyl professionals I have not met.

The folks at VHX were asked by comedian Aziz Ansari to develop a site for him that would empower him to sell his new special, Dangerously Delicious, directly to his fans for five bucks with no middleman distributor. Louis CK had great success with this model and it seemed to be worth repeating. Go preview it or just buy it immediately.

VHX reached out to me to help design the site in collaboration with them and Aziz's people. In no time flat we had the site together and it emerged into the world. I'm rather proud of how it turned out and could not be happier with being able to design for a comedian that I enjoy and getting to work with VHX - people that I respect beyond expression.

One day I informed Daniel that I had an idea for an installation piece inside Nashville's Smallest Art Gallery and he told me to put my money where my mouth is and make it! Actually, he was really nice about it and asked if I wanted to make it a reality and I agreed. After a bit of trial and error I came up with the beast you see documented on this page.

Andy Snyder was part of the team that helped create the Lake Fever Sessions - specifically he was a large part of the video element of the offerings of the site. When the project dissolved he reached out to me that he was considering going fulltime freelance and wondered if I'd help him get some identity designs together and a website. I jumped at the chance and the results are one of my favorite sites that I've worked on to date.

The site provides a big display zone for the videos that Andy creates and keeps the interface simple and easy to browse. The header video on the homepage is a bit of Vimeo trickery that actually worked out perfectly.

From what I'm told, Andy's busier than he's ever been so I'm going to assume that the site worked!
