We took over three floors of a vintage shop and well, it was party of art and awesome people. Working with photographer Erik Simkins and designers/illstrators Glenn Newcomer, Ally Creighton, and Stephanie Battershell (and some Square card reader app action) we sold far more the night of the With a photographer traveling along side the director capturing not only behind the scenes production but also portraits of the crew members to be featured on the site. - Fully custom Tumblr theme with integrated Twitter feed, along with rotating banner portraits. Ability to add video trailers as they would be released. Small show, small site, only fun. - A lot of Erik's work tends to be rather dense and not only consist of powerful images but a great deal of thought and social criticism line the edges of the prints. I wanted to present this multiple perspective on the same idea in a way relatable to viewers and specifically people who understood photography. A Few From Western was hosted in Seattle with the rad people from Tether, where we curated twelve design seniors and their work for a design exhibition. And it was put together almost from the beginning in three weeks. - I worked with two other seniors to curate, organize, design, set up, and make the show happen. Riley headed up the organization of an event in Seattle, Glenn focused on the print promotions and invites, while I headed up the web interface for the show (and somehow also found time to make a guest book).
