		<description>Flexible Presentations (or Flexibles Präsentieren in German) is the topic and title of the final project I worked on to graduate as a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design at the University of Applied Sciences &#38; Design Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany.

During the four month period in which we had to finish our project I developed a user interface for a tablet-like device which serves as a guide, a set of useful tools and a bridge between the known control methods for presentations like laptops or those in combination with remote controls.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-vert-100.png" border="0" width="670" height="500" width_o="670" height_o="500" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-vert-100_o.png" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-horiz-100.png" border="0" width="670" height="419" width_o="670" height_o="419" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-horiz-100_o.png" align="left" /&#62;

It enhances and simplifies the presentation experience for the speaker by adding innovative options and providing extended overview to help him sticking with the natural flow of presentations for the sake of him and the audience as well.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-vert.png" border="0" width="670" height="419" width_o="670" height_o="419" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-vert_o.png" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-horiz.png" border="0" width="670" height="419" width_o="670" height_o="419" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2472/275325/flex-pres-horiz_o.png" align="left" /&#62;

The project itself focussed on the execution of the presentation while the concept involved the preparations and postprocessing after the speech, too.

In the concept the presentation is always in sync with the cloud, during all the three processes. The user prepares the slides in a web application, syncs it with the device and after the presentation all the changes he made during the speech will be synced again so they can be distributed, discussed and shared with others.

At the final exhibition at the university I showed a prototype running on an Asus Eee PC T91 and developed as a flash dummy application with amazing help from Steffen Kolb.

The dummy presentation used in the concept is the pitch presentation for the Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger by Information Architects from January 2009.

Thanks, iA for sharing it. ♥

I made the design for our fictional vegetarian restaurant called CASA VERDE (The Green House).

Given only one font chosen by the professor and a colour palette limited to #000, #fff and one particular gradient of colour we had to design a poster featuring a short history and samples of the different font types.

		<description>We built an interactive Flash application which you can use to understand the different types of recording media like music cassettes, compact discs, etc. Every storage media is shown in an interactive exploded view where you can see the component parts. Other layers, accessable by arrows on the screen borders, show historical information and technical facts comparable on all devices and on the last layer one can simulate recording, erasing, fast forwarding and rewinding sound clips on a CD in a simple way. The project is not fully worked out but the current state could be demonstrated if desired.

		<description>This project treats the problem of forgetting important things: In your daily life you have to carry so much devices and stuff with you. At home, at work, etc. Why not use a single software/device that reminds you automatically when you forget anything that’s important to you? It works with networks (Bluetooth/WiFi) and tagging systems like RFID. This was an experimental project. For a detailed description, feel free to contact me.
