I wanted to create a form that was structured using morphology to create a shape that can be pushed and pulled to create an interaction with the singular pieces and further evolved that movement when pieced together.

To use the Objet Printer and push it, I would like to creat the kinetic side of to be completely built in the Connex printer. The model will test what the dual material quality is like and the different densities it offers.

&#60;img src="http://payload121.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/4738242/page7.jpg" width="670" height="563" width_o="2048" height_o="1723" src_o="http://payload121.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/4738242/page7_o.jpg" data-mid="25277792"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload121.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/4738242/page8.jpg" width="670" height="563" width_o="2048" height_o="1723" src_o="http://payload121.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/4738242/page8_o.jpg" data-mid="25277796"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload121.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/4738242/page9.jpg" width="670" height="563" width_o="2048" height_o="1723" src_o="http://payload121.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/4738242/page9_o.jpg" data-mid="25277802"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Using the materiality provided I worked with the flexbility and hardness of the materials. Using elasticity and memory to shape the form and produce a function. The motion of a pipette comes to mind using a suction method to replace the air with liquid.

The Objet Print has the ability to perform this function. Any liquid could be absorbed, for example ink could be take up and then dispersed elsewhere. Creating channels in the shape for the ink to travel into provides different possibilities. The remaining ink could be dropped into a solution of oil and water to create lasting 'MEMORIES" using different colours that the individual will choose.

This next set is from a comic series where I wanted to create a mysterious competition of last man standing using the hill to make a literal uphill battle for the contenders.

I had to use Holga cameras for this project so I decided to set up a camera with film and over time let myself and friends take photos of all the moments we had together. I then remediated the pictures from negative onto draft paper which gave a unique style and and even more lit up style when I projected the images onto the wall.

This is a lamp I created to make the user interact playfully with it to get the right atmosphere and feel they want for any situation. A little twist and arrangement sets your levels.

		<description>&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/A4_3.JPG" width="670" height="473" width_o="2048" height_o="1447" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/A4_3_o.JPG" data-mid="8143145"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

This Chaise Longue has come from the inspiration of Anthony Gormley who has designed many pieces such as The Framer, Drift and Firmament. I particularly like his use of repetition, flow and sculptural elements he applied to his design. In my first couple concepts I went with creating repetition for the first idea, flow for the second and abstract sculptures for the next. Taking the abstract composition and testing the ergonomics for a chaise longue I came up with the idea of letting the user form their own shape and the way they are seated.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part1.jpg" width="670" height="473" width_o="2048" height_o="1448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part1_o.jpg" data-mid="8143379"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

The best way to do this was creating a shape with a series of holes that would allow you to place thick rods through them. At first I started with a simple rectangular shape that was three simple planes that would slot together to form the space. The rectangular shape allowed for too much freedom and was an all too familiar shape so I began to take out sections that you would not need in a traditional chaise longue to make the final form. This form provides subtle suggestions of where to place the rods so that there is always a structure, the first being the obvious chaise longue shape and the rest coming from personal acquisition.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part2.jpg" width="670" height="441" width_o="2048" height_o="1348" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part2_o.jpg" data-mid="8143387"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

For the rods I want the full scale version to use bamboo rods 48mm in diameter, the rods would slide straight through to the other side in many different variances of overhang. The excess length would provide the bamboo a bow and give the user additional space to seat another person or use as storage space. The rest of the chaise would be created using 18mm thick Kadumu Plywood sheets for the two sides to house the holes for the Bamboo rods and a crafted Kadumu base that would provide the platform for the sides. The first base was too heavy and dominant so my iterations started to eradicate and form more spaces while maintaining the integrity of the form.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part3.jpg" width="670" height="473" width_o="2048" height_o="1448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part3_o.jpg" data-mid="8143395"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

The creation of the name came from the number of holes from a singular sheet which as you now know is 215 as you look side on to the chaise.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part4.jpg" width="670" height="473" width_o="2048" height_o="1448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1659500/part4_o.jpg" data-mid="8143403"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

All together the overall outcome of my chaise longue was successful in the way it offered many options even in the 1/6th scale edition. The aesthetics of the wood sheets and the bamboo rods go together well and make it look like an installation that would fit in a room perfectly. The only thing left is to try and experience the space..

		<description>&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Final Model Poster.JPG" width="670" height="376" width_o="2048" height_o="1149" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Final Model Poster_o.JPG" data-mid="8089777"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

My design premise started from being inspired by the luxuries of the latest technology on hand be it a MacBook Pro or a Sony PSP which took the aesthetics to the next level. These brands, Sony and Apple brought the world a minimalistic and highly efficient level of design. Using these prime examples that were before my eyes I decided to look back to a nostalgic and old technology being the popular Gameboy Color. The original was released in 1998 and rose to quick success selling 118.69 million units. This meant it had to be mass-produced and have a limited level of aesthetic difficulty applied to it so they could make many at once.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Final Shape Panel 1.JPG" width="670" height="81" width_o="2048" height_o="248" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Final Shape Panel 1_o.JPG" data-mid="8089781"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Seeing that I was taking the parts of the original and reforming them into a new shell I decided to move away from the bulk plastic feel of it and treat it as a hand crafted small production object. This gave me the ability to think about all kinds of materials and finishes that would transform the old antique into a modern minimal marvel.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Final Shape Panel 2.JPG" width="670" height="80" width_o="2048" height_o="245" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Final Shape Panel 2_o.JPG" data-mid="8089784"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

The form I decided upon for the Gameboy came from the inspiration of latest generation of MacBook Pro's using subtle curves and long sweeping planes to celebrate the beauty of their finish and care of each individual item. I also wanted to change the layout of the buttons to promote ease of the way you used to system. Instead of four axis moving and two pressed buttons I moved to three aligned thumbsticks that would be easy just to push in each direction to give you a better feel of action in the game. Taking more inspiration from lead designers and enjoying the minimal style I decided to add speaker detailing that was seamless yet added a new element.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Gameboy Back_copper.JPG" width="670" height="513" width_o="2048" height_o="1569" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/125345/1638780/Gameboy Back_copper_o.JPG" data-mid="8089810"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

I didn't want to change the game cartridge at all as I wanted to pay homage to the old games that everyone loved and bring a bit of color into the piece as a whole. I feel the entire object went together well as I used many methods to achieve this finish getting the form 3D printed in a white flexible plastic and then coating the object in a copper plate to be finally chrome plated once sanded and smoothed back, but I didn't want the finish too smooth, I wanted a slightly rough texture. The method of making this Gameboy was a truly fantastic journey making me learn about processes and new ways of forming objects. It brought back my childhood into a modern light.

I chose the name "rezzed" as it means the second coming of technology to appear into our existence. I breathed new life into an old gem and I wanted to give it a luxurious appeal, to make it aesthetically appear what it is worth in the mind of the users.
