I chose to work on rebranding Singapore Youth Flying Club as I've always wanted to work on something related to planes or aviation. Being able to work with the club and have its support was amazing and extremely helpful.

I worked on getting a brand image that could truly represent what they do - to nurture and inculcate in youths a passion for flying. Everything was based on the simple idea that a paper plane is the starting point of everyone's interest for aviation - it also represents the nurturing nature of the club, as a mentor to youths to wish to pursue their passion for flying.

[School Assignment/Live Client/Packaging]
|| Shortlisted as finalist

<img src="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo4.jpg" width="500" height="333" width_o="500" height_o="333" src_o="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo4_o.jpg" data-mid="19118977" border="0" align="left"/>
Tasked with designing both a new label and twin pack packaging for Killiney Kopitiam's kaya (a popular breakfast toast spread among locals), I decided to keep the label similar to it's old label, but change its orientation to give it a new look as well as make it double as a safety seal as Killiney prides itself with producing Kaya with fresh ingredients without preservatives.

<img src="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo3.jpg" width="500" height="283" width_o="500" height_o="283" src_o="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo3_o.jpg" data-mid="19118976" border="0" align="left"/>

For both the label and multipack, the colour scheme is as such to keep it in line with its brand colours as it was updated not too long ago and I wanted to build on it instead of rebranding it to prevent confusion or allowing it to look too different from the rest of the products Killiney stores currently sell.

<img src="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo1.jpg" width="500" height="333" width_o="500" height_o="333" src_o="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo1_o.jpg" data-mid="19118973" border="0" align="left"/><img src="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo2.jpg" width="500" height="333" width_o="500" height_o="333" src_o="http://payload52.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/3355740/cargo2_o.jpg" data-mid="19118974" border="0" align="left"/>
I designed the multipack to compliment the label instead of making a secondary packaging that completely obscures the first. It was also designed with cost and convenience in mind - it is 2C printing on a single sheet and can be flat packed for storage before whipping it out to pack two fresh bottles of kaya at any given point of time.

It is strong enough (and designed in such a way) to support both bottles of kaya even after it has been opened, thus eliminating the concern that the bottles will roll out or fall in the process of taking it out of the multipack.

| Version 2 of Adverganda, as we were going to have to bring everything to London, the exhibit was reduced to being portable

Execution//
Print both “propaganda” posters as well as iconic advertisements in red and blue
respectively and connect them to a common word (eg BUY or JOIN). When red light is shined on them, only the propaganda posters will be visable and vice versa - to show that they all have the same core message; BUY THIS, JOIN THAT.

Connected to The Happiness Machine

Part of the Creative Process Journal we had to make, I made a separate book upon further reflection - the fact that we spent so much on this exhibit struck me with such irony that happiness truly, doesn't come free; so I compiled all our receipts and submitted it in a guise of a nostalgic blue book which we all recognise, hoping I don't get into trouble.

I also made the Reactions & Reflections part of the journals (essentially, part 3 of 3) which is a compilation of the public's reactions to our exhibit and our personal reflections on this project.

To celebrate *SCAPE's 2nd anniversary, we've been tasked to brand their 2nd anniversary party! Taking inspiration from the 80s, we made 4 different versions to cover the activities of the day - general fun, flea markets, concerts and sports.

Execution: Create a shelter of good memories made up of several components -

<img src="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/IMG_1994 copy.JPG" width="670" height="446" width_o="1800" height_o="1200" src_o="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/IMG_1994 copy_o.JPG" data-mid="21996951" border="0" align="left"/>

1. A shelter to represent a separate zone altogether - "Good Memories" painted along the sides are a play on the old "Good Morning" towels.

<img src="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/319364_194567444006773_1542928021_n.jpeg" width="670" height="502" width_o="720" height_o="540" src_o="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/319364_194567444006773_1542928021_n_o.jpeg" data-mid="21811155" border="0" align="left"/>

2. A dream catcher at the top of the shelter, to represent good memories (in the form of tin cans, explained in the next point) descending from the past.

3. Tin cans descending from a dream-catcher from above, representing communication from the past, filled with childhood memories, ranging from games like animal chess & five stones, to scents like coffee powder & axe oil, to sounds like the national anthem & the garang guni man.

<img src="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/3.JPG" width="670" height="446" width_o="1800" height_o="1200" src_o="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/3_o.JPG" data-mid="21810908" border="0" align="left"/><img src="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/5.jpg" width="670" height="446" width_o="1800" height_o="1200" src_o="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/5_o.jpg" data-mid="21810944" border="0" align="left"/>

4. An old iconic red mailbox to take giveaways (in the form of childhood tokens) to represent the remembrance of these memories.

<img src="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/IMG_2352 copy.JPG" width="670" height="446" width_o="1800" height_o="1200" src_o="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4149339/IMG_2352 copy_o.JPG" data-mid="21811884" border="0" align="left"/>

We exhibited at the Admin Block in Singapore Polytechnic, as well as Bugis+. Responses from the public regarding our exhibit was both heart-warming and flattering - it was well-loved by both young, who were curious, and old, who remembers.

I would also like to thank everyone who told us we did a great job or that you really got to remember good times again - thank you, for more good memories.

| Done with Ben Newman's blessings

Made for our publication module, our brief was to feature an artist of our choice.

<img src="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4142586/_MG_8832 copy.JPG" width="670" height="446" width_o="1280" height_o="853" src_o="http://payload92.cargocollective.com/1/7/238394/4142586/_MG_8832 copy_o.JPG" data-mid="21809524" border="0" align="left"/>

I chose to feature Ben Newman because I visited his exhibition in the Nobrow gallery in the London Design Festival 2011 and fell in love with it.

Thankfully, Mr Newman replied my emails and graciously allowed me to use hi-res images of his illustrations for this publication.

Finally, the end product! Do click to scroll through.

In preparation for St. Patrick’s Day, our mascot, Mr Punch has been given a typical irish top hat, complete with a 3-leaf clover. A tent card insert was designed for Mr Punch (a restaurant located within MINT Museum of Toys).
