		<description>Nora is a friend of mine and a young foodie and chef from Bologna, Italy.

She recently raised a project of travelling kitchen (that's the meaning of "cucina itinerante") to bring people a human, simple, local and sustainable kitchen, based on good quality food.

The project I was involved in is the graphic design and illustration of an information pack that had to be destributed to a dinner.

A recycled paper envelope contained this little book with all the infos about the ingredients, and of course the menu of the dinner, both illustrated with a vaguely naif style.

		<description>Simone Frabboni is a woodworker and fine artist from Bologna, Italy. He was looking for a new and fresh image for his studio, starting from a new logo.

It had to be modern and classic, and it had to reflect his local identity mantaining an international feel.
Simone has traveled in the US and South America a lot to study and work, and he's passionate to anthropology and primivive art.
So we studied a solution that twinned totemic thinking and italian history: mediaval heraldry.
It reminds of the golden age of italian arts and crafts, so it's perfect.

The animal selected, the ram, is not a random choice: he raises Faer Oer sheeps in his backyard and they're called Black and Sabbath, and I used Black, the ram, as a model.
Ram is also a typical subject in european heraldry and it's a positive, vitalistic symbol.

		<description>Bland Vargar arean eclectic black metal band from Bologna, Italy.
Their debut album is a project I was involved in from the beginning to the end. They came here to have their ep mixed and mastered by SFR Studio and they didn't have a logo yet nor a specific idea for a format, graphic design and packaging.

There were few strong elements very clear since the first briefing: wolves and winter, night and forests, and an obsessive attention to details.

&#60;img src="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/BV1.jpg" width="670" height="487" width_o="709" height_o="516" src_o="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/BV1_o.jpg" data-mid="17135137"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
In their band logo, there had to be wood and wolves. So I sketched up some ideas that led up to a folky but still grim solution, inspired by silouhette art and some macabre european fairy tales.

&#60;img src="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/Wolfoboros.jpg" width="670" height="670" width_o="960" height_o="960" src_o="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/Wolfoboros_o.jpg" data-mid="17135141"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
For the artwork and the cd, here's a wolf again, used this time as a symbol of circular time, life and death as a whole.

&#60;img src="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/BVpackaging.jpg" width="670" height="528" width_o="709" height_o="559" src_o="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/BVpackaging_o.jpg" data-mid="17135150"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
&#60;img src="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/BVpackaging2.jpg" width="670" height="521" width_o="709" height_o="552" src_o="http://payload51.cargocollective.com/1/3/120724/3336982/BVpackaging2_o.jpg" data-mid="17135147"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
As a DIY issue, we studied a limited edition extremely curated in every detail.
The printed cd is inserted in a 4 page booklet containing both italian and english versions of the lyrics, with a 250 gr cardboard black cover, hand folder and binded.
The whole comes in a recycled paper envelope with the band logo printed on back.
The envelope is then sealed with twine and a chesnut twig from the Apennines.</description>

The request was clear: red red red, deep forests and the fury of Kinnamasta, the most impressive incarnation of Goddess Kali. Death, circular time and the meeting between East and West, wich deeply influenced the imaginary of the band, all this had to be clear at a glance. This is what came out.

Sludge Swamp is a great resource for every (doom)metalhead, and the Swamp Comp is their mastodontic annual selection. I was honoured to take part of this!

Swamp Comp is a free downloadable issue, and it comes with its printable artwork
