The industrial manufacturing side of ETI’s business lent itself nicely to stark geometric shapes and warm hues in order to represent the precise nature of machinery and create an appropriate tone. The repeated forms also tie into this idea of casting and replication by reusing the square shape in a predictable pattern. The triangular forms created in the mark were intended to represent the meaning of the word “excelsior” by pointing in an upward direction and resembling a directional arrow. These repeated square shapes also come together to imply the shape of a capital “e” which further ties the mark into the company name.
