		<description>Cultural Significance of Colors
Client: National Institute of Design
The graphic was designed to understand different cultures through color.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Significance of Colours.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="473" width_o="1024" height_o="724" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Significance of Colours_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Batman Ambient Light Installation
Client: None. Myself.
I chose to design a not-so-boring lamp as a part of the open elective, as Light has always been one of my fascinations. And of course, it had to be a Batman lamp!
The lamp was made with polished acrylic, MDF and stainless steel screws. A foldable MDF structure was built behind the lamp that had stencils of the Batman logo. The graphic encased within the acrylic was made interchangeable.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Batman Light Installation.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="745" width_o="1024" height_o="1139" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Batman Light Installation_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Convocation Display Panels - Graphics &#38; Print
Client: National Institute of Design
Project by: Gaurav Bhushan, Shalini Dey, Vaidehi Vishwasrao, Mansi Salvi, and myself
Around 12x5 feet of printed vinyl boards were designed to facilitate the 29th Convocation of NID. The group created the concept, artwork and set it up.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Convocation Display Panels.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="502" width_o="1024" height_o="768" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Convocation Display Panels_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Identities
Client: Indo-US startup
Trying my hand at designing logos.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/SportsTeknik.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="502" width_o="1024" height_o="768" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/SportsTeknik_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Dhain Choooooo! - Story Telling &#38; Media Authoring
Client: National Institute of Design
Project by: Mansi Salvi and myself
As a part of the Story Telling course, a short linear story was written and recorded. The puppets were illustrated on cardboard, and voice narration was added to the recorded video.

Watch the video on YouTube:

Sykobot! - Programmable Path-tracing Robot
Client: National Institute of Design
Sykobot! was designed at NID during a workshop on Robotics. The robot works on a pre-programmed integrated circuit chip (IC) which was programmed using Microsoft Visual Basic (programming language).

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Sykobot!.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="502" width_o="1024" height_o="768" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406481/Sykobot!_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Client: National Institute of Design
A handy device that could notify the driver about obstacles on the road, vehicle proximity and probable danger zones was conceptualized. The prototype was made using MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard).

Redesign of a Basic Film Loading Camera
Client: National Institute of Design
As a part of the Advanced Form course, a simple film camera was studied. The exploded view of the camera helped understand the minute details of it's inner components. A thermacol prototype was also built to make the exterior form outdoor friendly.

La-P! - Twin screen mobile tablet
Client: National Institute of Design
One of the first exploratory courses at NID, ergonomics and form proved to be a resourceful introduction to material and usability in the physical world. The project involved building a "convergence" device keeping in mind the spike in technology in recent times.
The prototype was built using MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) which was hinged at the center to form a foldable model.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406931/La-P!.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="502" width_o="1024" height_o="768" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/2/72704/1406931/La-P!_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Form &#38; Color Transition
Client: National Institute of Design
A study of one of my favorite symbols, Batman. The transition shows the symbol evolving from an older version (used in Batman media in the early 90's) to the current one (2005*).

Innovations Database
Client: National Institute of Design in partnership with National Innovation Foundation, India
An attempt to digitize the abundant analog information of NIF's Innovations &#38; Innovators to facilitate its easy and efficient access.
The UI prototype was created using Microsoft Visual Basic and illustrated cleaner information organization. Some of the features included were intuitive keyword-based search, spatial innovation locator through maps and a discussion platform for the innovators.

Automobile Driver Assistance System
Client: National Institute of Design
A handy device that could notify the driver about obstacles on the road, vehicle proximity and probable danger zones was conceptualized. Additionally, contextual information such as gas stations in proximity were also featured in the UI.
A non-intrusive mechanism to give these alerts was the central focus of the concept.

My Piece of Chennai
http://mypieceofchennai.org
'My Piece of Chennai' is a volunteer run, open-source internet initiative to provide Chennai residents with the necessary information, tools and support to help solve civic issues (such as issues of urban planning, uncleared garbage, non-functional street lights, etc), and help maintain their community effectively. The goal of the initiative is to help communities improve the conditions of their local environments, leading to improved quality of life, heath and well-being.
The initiative is envisioned as a website-driven tool that will help people create projects to solve neighborhood issues that concern the public. The project is still under development, and its design process snapshots are shown here.

Client: TaazzaGO
A quick UI revamp was proposed for TaazzaGO, an Indian mobile app startup focussed on local news, offers &#38; location services.
The brief solely targeted the existing visual UI of the app. Adherence to the latest Android UI guidelines and app patterns were also taken into account during the design process.

Mobile Wallet Concept
Client: National Institute of Design in partnership with C-SAM
An academic project that centered around providing solutions for consumer payments on mobile devices. The brief required the formulation of simple concepts to address common issues in day-to-day transactions like the clearing of phone bills, electricity bills and other domestic services.
The snapshots below showcase a generic mobile wallet concept along with its information architecture &#38; design guidelines.
