published in Flash the code would pull images onto the stage and duplicate them randomly while screenshots were captured every 30 seconds.

A few selected screenshots I printed.

I chose to conceptually bring youth and energy to the piece, since Hamlet’s story is that of a young prince struggling the harsh realities of life, and the turbulent ebbs of maturity.

For this project I wanted to explore the characteristics of common everyday objects that are universally shared by all and find new affordances with the artifact that can contextually bring imaginative and engaging solutions to interactivity.

As technology increasingly becomes more sophisticated, familiar objects will be embedded with functionalities unseen in our current culture. I wanted to highlight this idea with a humorous response. The familiar lint roller with the functionality of detecting and sequencing Human DNA for crime scene investigations.

INTRODUCTION
Needless to say, Art Center can be a very stressful place. For our first People Knowing project we wanted to create a dispensing machine that would take advantage of the the anxious state the students are constantly in.

THE SURVEY
To begin Ana and myself formulated a set of questions to include in the survey that would help us get a better understanding about the student culture at Art Center. Once we executed the survey we wanted to see if using a punchholer would be a more engaging way to fill out the survey instead of the traditional written method.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/554996/punch2.jpg" width="602" height="395" width_o="602" height_o="395" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/554996/punch2_o.jpg" data-mid="2559653"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

INTERVENTION 1
We set out on our first test with a dispensing machine entitled The Cannibal Cove. The idea was that once students punched through the survey they would get a piece of fruit as a reward dispensed from the man, or women in this case, automated dispensing machine. The first test proved that the punching was indeed an engaging way for students to fill out a survey. But the Cannibal Cove dispenser was not attractive enough to seduce the amount of students we needed to understand the culture at Art Center.

INTERVENTION 2
So we regrouped and expanded on the idea of punching, and decided to add one extra level of punching with the introduction of a Punch Through dispenser. We would set each survey in individual boxes and have the students punch through the box to grab the survey, and then punch through the survey to complete the process. So we set up at the side entrance at Art Center and waited to see if any student engaged with the dispenser since it was inherent to the concept that we would not prompt them to do so. Within five minutes the first student attacked the box and punched through the survey. Fifteen minutes later all 30 surveys were filled out. The Punch Through dispenser proved to be an engaging way for students to fill out surveys. The only reward was the temporary release of aggression from punching through the dispenser and through the survey.

		<description>Lev Manovich, Media Theorist and Cultural Analyst recently presented his Cultural Analytics study at the Nowcasting Design Seminar at UCLA. I found his research to be interesting, especially in regards to the quantifying of visual data. In direct response to his talk I designed a fictional remote inspired by Manovich's research.
&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/552764/lev1.jpg" width="640" height="430" width_o="640" height_o="430" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/552764/lev1_o.jpg" data-mid="2544507"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
MANOPOWER IN THE PALM OF YOUR HANDS
I chose the remote because of it's familiar and everyday application to juxtapose Manovich's current process. The functionality of the remote is similar to average remotes with a few exceptions. The remote is able to filter through television programming based on cultural attributes such as race, religious beliefs, and behaviours.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/552764/lev2.jpg" width="640" height="430" width_o="640" height_o="430" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/552764/lev2_o.jpg" data-mid="2544508"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
COLOR SORT
Wish you could flip through channels where yellow was the predominant color on the screen. Your dream has come true. Color Sort allows you to filter television shows by four colors; red, green, yellow, and blue. Never miss Spongebob and Big Bird ever again!

PROFILER
Is it just me or do you sometimes just want to watch Filipino people on TV? Or sometimes tall people with moustaches and shaved heads. With Profiler you can filter through dozens of racial and physical keywords within seconds.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/552764/lev3.jpg" width="640" height="430" width_o="640" height_o="430" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/4216/552764/lev3_o.jpg" data-mid="2544509"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
