		<description>Horseshoe Crab Eggs

An Installation showing the awareness of the horseshoe crab extinction.

Between the high and low tides the female crab drags the male to the waters edge. Once on the shore, she forms a shallow nest between four and six inches. Here she deposits 5 to 7 clumps of 2,000 to 4,000 eggs each, or up to 20,000 eggs. She will repeat this process several times over the spawning cycle laying 90,000 eggs or more in a season.

The ten red dots represent the amount estimated to survive to adulthood.

&#60;img src="http://payload39.cargocollective.com/1/6/205145/3093020/egg6.jpg" width="670" height="743" width_o="714" height_o="792" src_o="http://payload39.cargocollective.com/1/6/205145/3093020/egg6_o.jpg" data-mid="15852788"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

Invasion

This installation was in partnership with EPSOR, a national science foundation, to create awareness to the issues surrounding invasive species. They damage and destroy living organisms, habitats, and entire ecosystems. This installation was inspired by the zebra mussel. One of the worst invasive species, the zebra mussel attaches onto almost any surface and eats away at it. They cling onto underwater pipes, ships, boats, water treatment and power plants, etc...

By being in an elevator this exhibit shows the tenacity and annoyance as well as educates and informs the viewer. It is placed in an area that populates everyones life, and people would be forced to interact with it in order to move on with their objective. The exterior of the mussels have one word adjectives that describe invasive species such as forceful, aggressive, and overpowering. The interior gives the viewer more information about invasive species as well as a website if they want to inquire further. What the viewer is unaware of is that the next day the mussels will return in an even larger form. This routine will happen several times.

		<description>Pop-Up

A sculptural brochure about a typeface designer that might actually accomplish the goal of making someone actually want to learn about a typeface designer! Based on the typeface designer Herman Zapf, this pop-up book highlights his achievements and one of his fonts, Zapfino. One side outlines Herman as a designer, while the other side discusses the importance of his typeface Zapfino

Each page shows a letter from the alphabet using 3 representations. A typeface and a typographic term starting with that letter, as well as excerpts from Gertrude Stein's book Birthdays and Alphabets

Example: Page A is written in arial, and represents an apostrophe. The excerpt is "Everything begins with an A"
