Ho voluto tenere una realazione con il primo lavoro - Autumn Stories - fotografando ambienti e paesaggi in cui la natura e l'intervento dell'uomo sono si mimetizzano e si completano, comunicando quello che l'album porta in se. NOW è un adesso eterno, evocativo, congelato, melanconico, candido, ma al tempo stesso è istinto, attimo fugace, gesto, azione, calore come una pennellata.

Where does the artwork come from?

The album cover shows a scene with snow, that is the theme of the album. I like the artwork very much, because Eugenio who also worked on Autumn Stories has interpreted the concept to perfection. The album is called Now and shows a very still and glacial landscape, but for an accent of colour which represents something extemporaneous. Melancholic moments, then, but also filled with hope. There is a coincidence between graphics and concept.

In occasione della settimana del design di Milano, presentazione speciale di DARCEL x LAQ: scultura/comò frutto della collaborazione tra Craig Redman/Darcel e LAQ di Parigi. L'allestimento è stato realizzato in collaborazione con MONOatelier, i quali hanno ideato un percorso di tele trasparenti che, dapprima distorgono e sfuocano la visuale dello spettatore, ma poi svelano, poco a poco, il mondo del nostro amico Darcel.
L'ex deposito di carni, ora esclusiva location per lo showroom Riccardo Grassi, si trasforma ed annuncia l'entrata nel nuovo mondo dell'invenzione di Craig Redman.

Una mostra di grande successo, in cui erano presenti ospiti e grandi ammiratori di Darcel.

Craig Redman è un illustratore australiano che vive e lavora a New York. Nel 2000 ha fondato, assieme a quattro amici, il collettivo d’Arte e Design Rinzen. Da allora collabora frequentemente con il department store parigino Colette, supportato dalla sua artefice Sarah Lerfel. Riconosciuto internazionalmente, lavora per brand quali Apple, MTV, Converse, Nike, Vogue e New York Times, spaziando con versatilità tra illustrazione, fabric design, tipografia e direzione artistica. E’ protagonista di esposizioni personali e collettive in tutto il mondo, celebrato anche dall’illustre museo Louvre di Parigi. La sua creazione più rinomata è Darcel.

Darcel è un uovo-ciclope, l’alterego di Craig Redman. Come il suo creatore vive e lavora a New York. Sulle orme di molti suoi coetanei cura un blog, Darcel Disappoints, dall’approccio visuale eloquente. Il cinico racconto di alti e bassi (più bassi che alti), tra ispirazioni ed aspirazioni, desiderate ed imposte dalla vita quotidiana della metropoli. Soggetto di illustrazioni, sculture e animazioni video, la routine di Darcel ha raggiunto il culmine della fama grazie alla mostra “And a miserable day to you too”,
in collaborazione con Colette.


LAQ è un’azienda specializzata nell’Interior Design, fondata dall’estro creativo di Raphael Lancrey e Pascal Maugein. Dal 2009 spinge le sue forze oltre i confini del lusso, dove la qualità superba di materiali e forme si rafforza grazie all’adozione delle migliori tecniche tradizionali di lavoro consolidate nel patrimonio culturale francese.


SVPERBE Creative Visionaries, Riccardo Grassi Showroom e MONOatelier sono lieti di presentare DARCEL x LAQ. Il Design che si innalza a valore di opera d’arte. Darcel in una eccentrica e malinconica versione, risultato di un mondo psichedelico e abusato, unito all’irriverenza pop di LAQ. La seconda parte della collezione “Famous” vede la creazione di un comò laccato lucido dove l’occhio osservatore del quotidiano nasconde un cassetto segreto. L’innovazione sposa l’artigianalità della manifattura francese, accostando le forme inconsuete a materiali di pregio come madreperle e gusci d’uovo. Un progetto d’impatto la cui identità sposa alla perfezione quelle delle partnership coinvolte.

Craig Redman is an Australian illustrator who lives and works in New York. In the year 2000 he founded, with the help of four of his friends, the Art and Design Rinzen partnership. Since then, he frequently collaborates with the Parisian department store Colette, shouldered by its founder Sarah Lerfel. Darcel, character of illustrations, sculptures and animation videos, has reached the peak of his success thanks to the exhibition “And a miserable day to you too”, curated in collaboration with Colette.

LAQ is a company specialising in Interior Design, founded by Raphael Lancrey and Pascal Maugein, its creative owners. Since 2009 the company has been driving its energies beyond the boundaries of luxury, where the superbe quality of its material and forms strengthens itself thanks to the use of the best traditional work techniques which have been consolidated thanks to the french cultural heritage.

SVPERBE Creative Visionaries, Riccardo Grassi Showroom and MONOatelier are pleased to announce DARCEL x LAQ. Design that rises its value to work of art. Darcel is depicted in an eccentric and melancholic version, due to a psychedelic and damaged world, and combined to LAQ’s irreverent pop. The second part of the “Famous” collection is the exhibition of the creation of a lucid lacquered chest, in which a hidden draw is hardly noticeable by a daily-eye observer. This french manufacture is the perfect example of when innovation and tradition meet together, unusual shapes and quality material such as mother-of-pearl and egg shells are harmoniously combined. This exhibition wants to be a project of impact whose identity is perfectly defined by the partnerships involved.

The last September I have been invited for a consultancy at SCP Ltd in Suzhou, China. SCP is one of the leading company in Asia about Urban Planning ad Architecture, with the HQ in Singapore and office in Shanghai, Suzhou, Beijing, Taipei and others.

I helped my friend Yu Fung Ling, head of the Media Department, on some projects. One was to develop a video presentation for the new CBD in Muse City, Myanmar. I developed a logo and visual identity, developing the information design. 
The video will be presented to the President of Myanmar to have the green light for the project.

		<description>The Audi Design Performances - AUDI A1 

I was invited for a students competition to personalize the new Audi A1 Roof: this is mine.

The idea was to work on shadows, levels and materials. Audi is class, history, Hi-tech and quality, details, reserch but also tones of neutral colors, self-knowledge and elegance.
Than i saw the A5 commercial about ‘the swan’ Audi form ‘20, i connected it to my beloved ducks i see every day i go to work, so I worked on the idea of a psychedelic fusion between a swan with a duck – A1 is smaller – and all the rest you can see.

I did an illustration that on tones of black and white, thant can fit on all color configurations as will look like as an effect of lights and shadows.

		<description>This is my proposal for Munich Re that invited me and other designers for a competition to personalize their new HQ in Milan. The project was to create 4 illustration to represent the 4 Company Values: Flexiblility, Teamwork, Innovation and Passion. 

These artworks are used to cover walls of their copy and printing machine areas: that's why I decided to work with these machines and technologies to connect human error and work with technoligies and photocomposition.
The Graphic element of the Munich Re logo is used to give the dynamic idea and cut.
