		<description>RADO

Designed for Rado and Blackberry Interior Design Show 2012 , Rado's innovative package is designed to use digital platforms as an alternative to minimize the use of paper and unnecessary packaging elements, such as instructions, warranties and more.

By using RFID technology, this new package will disrupt the current system and facilitate users a more holistic experience, from engaging in opening the Rado package to a digital interactive interface.

Rado's new package not only eliminates current packaging distractions, but it leverages the current program, RADOSTAR, for professionals to engage and be active creatively.

		<description>MUCAMA

This Step-stool was a project based on the experimentation of joinery as an element that naturally holds together two pieces of wood. My approach was to use a close Mortise&#38;Tenon and an open Mortise&#38;Tenon on an angle. There are three different types of wood: Walnut, Red Oak, and White Oak.

		<description>LOCUST FARM

Locust farm was designed to help refugee families in Daadab, Kenya to fight malnutrition and future illnesses. Dadaab is the largest and most populated refugee camp in the world and it has the highest rate for malnutrition according to UNHCR statistics. There are about half a million refugees in Dadaab that are not getting the proper calories, vitamins and protein nutrient required to survive. A refugee family consisted of four individuals consume 2,200 calories per week, sometimes per month, in comparison a person in the UK consumes 2,200 calories per day.

Our solution is to provide families with a food kit that will help them grow insects (arthropods) as food. Two-thirds of the world already consume insects as part of their nutritional diet , and in addition, insects have been proven to provide enough proteins for the human beings to survive. In 2013, The Food and Agriculture Organization released a document where they state that insects are not only nutritious, but better for the environment than other protein source and can generate jobs.

This food kit is meant to provide families with a proper nutritional value that will keep them healthier and stronger, as well it will generate jobs and further to decrease the death rate because of malnutrition.

		<description>TUBO

In 2011, The Toronto Trade School had a workshop of bringing communities together. As part of an exercise, one of the speakers said, " get as close as you can until you feel some type discomfort". As people started getting closer to each other, it was interesting to see some had few inches apart while others had a foot or more.

I wanted to use this concept and explore the relationship between two people seating side by side. The structure is made out of steel rods that are connected in a continuous form. As one person sits on one side, it needs the other person to be perfectly balance.

		<description>AROMA

A study by the National Resource Defence Council, documented that air fresheners sold in today's market can cause developmental and reproductive problems, especially for infants. Also, it highlighted that most air fresheners consist of petrochemicals, and toxic ingredients that are linked with abnormally- developed male genitalia, asthma, cancer, allergies and many more. Nevertheless, most air fresheners are designed to provide automatic functions to deliver a specific fragrance, which disintegrates the interactivity between the user and the product.

Aroma is designed to behave accordingly to the user's input of interactivity by touch, movement and sensory experience. It's composed of natural scented oils cartridges that are harmless to the user and which can be changed according to the user's taste; from lime to pine, citronella, cilantro and more. Aroma aims to disrupt the automatic functions by bringing the user to a seamless experience that is interactive through smell.

		<description>KATIMAVIK

How can we interpret Canadian Culture into furniture? What really represents Canadian as a Country; Maple Syrup? Beavers? Raccoons?

This Bench is designed based on my foreign representation of Canadian Culture as furniture. Since Colombia is mostly tropical, I didn't get much of the snow experience, the variety of northern wild life and the aboriginal influence.

Through out my research process I looked towards specific objects that have a strong representation of Canadian Culture. Many of the objects were in relation to nature and the use of natural materials such as wood, leather and fibres.

Katimavik, which means " meeting place", is a bench composed of recycled wood pieces and woven leather similarly to the process of snow shoes. In addition, the bottom part is all made from steel as part of the core material of Canada, and a symbol of the steel workers of Canada.

		<description>CARLOS CRUZ DIEZ

Carlos Cruz Diez is a widely known chromatic artist from Venezuela, where he expresses colour as an " evolving situation ", a reality that acts on the human being with the same intensity of cold, heat and sound. Cruz Diez is known for his technique 'Kinetic Colouring'. This technique was developed along with other painters in the 60's and 70's in South America and Europe.

The idea behind this project was to translate the visual narrative of why Carlos Cruz Diez design his pieces the way they are and how it captures the human experience. "Cromatizacion" as Cruz-Diez explains, it's the mixture of overlapping colours to achieve a hologram effect.

This concept led for new explorations of space, way-finding and in a way "colorizing", the user's journey. I wanted to include elements of "Cromatizaciones" within the space, furniture and add movable elements that participates in the hologram exploration.

This pencil box is an exploration of MDF and veneer materials to find new forms.

In the process of making this pencil box, I learned about different cutting techniques and the understanding of the material.

For many women, being a mother is one of the greatest things on earth, by keeping their children safe at all times.

With this in mind, I designed a lamp based on the concept of motherhood. By re-using wood shavings from Balsa Wood, I explore the material into new kind of forms that will visually communicate the state of being a mother.

The result is a lamp that conveys different elements of motherhood such as; protection, warmth and growth.
The wood shavings act as an aesthetics element to the lamp, and as the light shines through, it provides heat to the plant in representation of warmth and care.
