For as much as I love typography and the structure of letterforms, I also love the creative nooks & crannies of language. Having had the tendency to be drawn-out in my critical writing endeavors, this project is an exercise in brevity, in restraint—having each word be concrete and deliberately placed. I’m not even certain if I’m following the traditional haiku format, but I use a 5/7/5 syllables-per-line structure for each attempt. While some of the imagery wrought may be overt, others simply attempt to convey a palimpsest of feeling, an ephemeral sight or sound.
