The ice itself is a beautiful object and its form and properties inspired this project as a habitable hut. We are trying to recreate the state of broken ice by having simple shape tilted and lifted in the air. The result is the space formed by the shift of ice masses as a habitable hut. From far away, visitors will see the hut as part of the landscape. Once in front of it, a small crack on the “ice” indicates the entry to the inside. But Bornholmer street is the oposite. This site was the first to raise its barriers the 9 November of 1989. Today only two plaques recall that event. The project aim is to revalorate this historic place and connects it to the Berlin wall cultural tour. This project look for giving to one of the main entries to the university, a better standard according to it importance. The propose is an informative center that help visitors to locate the faculties and works of art, as well as to offer information about activies inside the campus. The program will be located undergound, directly conected with the subway station.
