		<description>ICE CRACK HUT &#124; Manitoba

Site:
Manitoba, Canada

Team:
Maya Utsunomiya

Stage:
Competition

We, human, have always been amazed by nature, tried to cope with nature, tried to manipulate nature, and have found a beauty in nature.
The ice itself is a beautiful object and its form and properties inspired this project as a habitable hut. We are trying to recreate the state of broken ice by having simple shape tilted and lifted in the air. The result is the space formed by the shift of ice masses as a habitable hut.
From far away, visitors will see the hut as part of the landscape. Once in front of it, a small crack on the “ice” indicates the entry to the inside. Visitors will be facing a panoramic view of the surrounding nature from the point of view of an ice mass.

Stage:

In a city where chaos prevailed there should be options that transform people's mind. Events in urban spaces not done for that (art installations on highways, the mountain as a movie screen...) could show Caracas inhabitants alternatives on how to reinvent their city and live better.

THE FREEDOM PARK IN BORNHOLMER STREET &#124; Berlin

Site:
Berlin, Germany

Collaborators:
Dessau Institute of Architecture
Prof. Architect Alfred Jacoby

Stage:
Student project

The remaining sites in Berlin about the wall are still well commemorated, maintained and are very informative. But Bornholmer street is the oposite.
This site was the first to raise its barriers the 9 November of 1989. Today only two plaques recall that event.
The project aim is to revalorate this historic place and connects it to the Berlin wall cultural tour.
The design consist of a park for the area with an historic gallery and a wall guide point inside of it.
