Mood is a modular cloth brand and enterprise created from scratch - Concept, Ideas, Brand and Visual Identities, Products - in colaboration with Rita Martins and Susana Costa.

The main concept is that each piece of clothing can be adapted to each person and to some specific situations. The colour of the fabric does not really matter, we were more interested in the shape and function of the final pieces.

For this reason there were created 3 sub-brands - Growing, for kids; Urban, for the city life and Go & Fest, for enjoying the party without worries. Concept, idea and product of the sub-brand Go & Fest are totally my creation.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/1713032/3 prod-lines - Y.jpg" width="629" height="426" width_o="629" height_o="426" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/1713032/3 prod-lines - Y_o.jpg" data-mid="8426933" border="0" align="left"/>

Go & Fest was designed for those who enjoy summer festivals, night parties or so on. When one leaves the tent/house for the concerts area, he must take a number of small items with him, plus a sweater for when the sun sets. The problem encountered was that sweaters always fall in the middle of that amazing song and backpacks are too big...

A sweater with a marsupial pocket where one can keep these small items becomes a backpack! With two big bottons, one on each lateral side of the sweater and six button holes, three on each sleeve, one can easily form the straps of a common backpack with the sleeves of the sweater when not in use.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/1713032/pormenores -Y.jpg" width="650" height="386" width_o="650" height_o="386" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/1713032/pormenores -Y_o.jpg" data-mid="8439375" border="0" align="left"/>

This way you can eliminate an unecessary backpack and still have your sweater secure when you are dancing and jumping on your favorite song!

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/arvore2.jpg" width="397" height="397" width_o="397" height_o="397" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/arvore2_o.jpg" data-mid="2675191" border="0" align="left"/>

This is a family tree! A family put down in infographics.

The goal was to put as much information about a family as possible in the most clear and informative way. I tried to make a pattern that can be applied to any family and that can be continued every year.
The result is the image of an inverted tree with its green branches growing along the years.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/pormenor 1.1.jpg" width="454" height="331" width_o="454" height_o="331" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/pormenor 1.1_o.jpg" data-mid="2675216" border="0" align="left"/>

Just like a tree, each circumference represents one year. I decided to start with the year 1918, which is the inner ring. It is a matter of adding loops to the model until the present year. (This graphic has since 1918 until 2008). The circumferences in darker shades are historical portuguese marks. The circumferences in medium grey are international events like World Wars or the fall of the Berlin Wall. This allows to understand some family choices/interactions.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/pormenor 2.2.jpg" width="227" height="227" width_o="227" height_o="227" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/pormenor 2.2_o.jpg" data-mid="2675283" border="0" align="left"/><img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/pormenor 3.3.jpg" width="227" height="227" width_o="227" height_o="227" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/pormenor 3.3_o.jpg" data-mid="2675284" border="0" align="left"/>

Each family member has his life-line across his living years in a color that depends on where he lived. Green shades for Portuguese cities, gray for who does not have a direct relashionship to the family and other colors for periods of time in other countries. Births are dots in pink or blue (girls or boys) that, according to the year of the ring, gives you the date of birth. Death is given simply by the discontinuation of the life line. Marriage, unions without marriage, adoption, divorce, are cases considered and represented.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/meia lua 1.jpg" width="567" height="312" width_o="567" height_o="312" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/meia lua 1_o.jpg" data-mid="2675391" border="0" align="left"/>

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/legenda2.2.jpg" width="624" height="255" width_o="624" height_o="255" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/460136/legenda2.2_o.jpg" data-mid="2675362" border="0" align="left"/>

If you spot any case not here represented, I invite you to suggest it, as I am certain it will be possible to include it!

Castelo Branco lays in between the highest mountain range of the Portuguese continent, Serra da Estrela, where summers are very hot and winters very cold. It is (was) a (big) region of pastoralism, as so, the most important center of wool production and suplier for the whole country. Therefore my material choice, wool.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/550577/flores2.jpg" width="567" height="186" width_o="567" height_o="186" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/550577/flores2_o.jpg" data-mid="2626827" border="0" align="left"/>

Bordery plays an important role as a traditional portuguese technique. All over the country there are different motives according to the region's specific culture and Castelo Branco is no different. Although its manufacture is in extinction, bordery from Castelo Branco is one of the Portuguese's most important. This bordery is usually used to make big pieces like bed quilts representing nature and life. Its influences are oriental with flowers, leaves and birds combined in simetrical order.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/550577/passaro3.jpg" width="397" height="254" width_o="397" height_o="254" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/550577/passaro3_o.jpg" data-mid="2632767" border="0" align="left"/>

As for the cold winter nights sourrounded by mountains, a bottle of red Portuguese wine is marvelous! To keep it at the best temperature (18ºC to 20ºC) I decided to create a cape made of natural wool embellished with some of the region's bordery motives in bright colours. The natural color of the wool stands besides the colourfull bordery bringing it to life and maintaining the material's originality.

Drawing for Inovation, this is the course where I was asked to create patterns out of something living and related to the city of Aveiro. Each pattern comes from the repetition of a single module; each module is a detail (zoom in) of the whole illustration.
The purpose was to apply these patterns on commercial material to sell during the celebrations of the city's 250th anniversary.

Feeling Portugal is all about feeling raw materials and its processing technique... while playing!

Within this project the goal was to revitalize Portuguese materials and tecniques.
To do so we created a brand of books for children (3 to 5 years) for them to explore the materials with more than just sight throughout a range of didactic games.

The model presented for book #1 - "Sentir" (feel in Portuguese), was manufactured entirely by me (except the cover). It is made with traditional Portuguese materials like cork, felt, wood, wool, raffia, linen and put together with some traditional tecniques like crochet, weave and lace.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/536902/seq-2.1.gif" width="446" height="335" width_o="446" height_o="335" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/35898/536902/seq-2.1_o.gif" data-mid="2513511" border="0" align="left"/>

The book's theme is animals and it contains 4 "pages" with atractive and colorful figures that can jump and stick from "page" to "page", thanks to velcro and natural caracteristics of some materials. Each one of these 4 "pages" is separate by a "blank page".
A metal ring that unites the "pages" can be open to play with the "pages" as scenarios all at once.
