Illustration is the cornerstone of my involvement in the arts. From comic books came the passion which led to my first degree. Although I never pursued it full-time, it is always there to inspire me. To help me find new avenues of expression and expand my own perspective. IStock.com has been an inspiration for me. By applying my skills to illustrate popular concepts for sale online, I stay sharp. Trying out drawing styles that I find intriguing. Expressing complex ideas in palatable ways. That’s what I call fun!

The alpha and the omega. Type is where I started and the bottom line of design. Visual language. Experimentation with type is one of the most fun parts of my job and I don’t get to do it very often. Create my own typefaces, investigate calligraphic form, create intricate grid systems. For the past four years I did though. My portfolio contains a collection of typographic posters and logos that explore various solutions. Created for various classes and projects. They are my vision of what “explorations in type” are about. Impactful and informative communication.communication.

Trying to base a design on mistakes is hard. But research into the happy accident is great fun. My book is about that thin line between mistakes and creativity. It examines some of the usual ways we find errors helpful and takes a look into famous historic mistakes and the “wise men’s” take on the matter. Turns out that researching the matter is way too easy. Expressing that “wrong is right” is the hard part. Finally coming to the conclusion that not only have some of the world’s most significant moments been defined by mistakes, but that even the greatest minds have been baffled by this, is maddening.

Food can be considered as culture for the mouth in the way that art is food for the soul. Culture and food are connected. In fact, cuisine is how we define most ethnic cultures on a daily basis. What more can we learn about making the world more united by eating together. My research and opinions about the various aspects of food as culture conveniently packaged. The ethnic cornucopia of supermarkets to religious aspects of cuisine. Global trends in fast food and ancient rituals that transcend tradition to become habit. Take a bite and you will be hooked.

When it comes to children there is no distinction between education and entertainment. At least there shouldn’t be. Observations based on self examination, research, interviews ans opinions were published in this small book. Mindmaps, self portraits, event booklets, invitations, card and board games leading to cascading revelations about my own opinions on education. One of my most surprising observations being that people don’t fear freedom of information for children.

The Barkley is a luxury pet spa/hotel. Its new brand is perfectly characterized by the Scottish terrier on the packaging. Distinguished, durable, healthy and expensive. A line of products that spands over four areas of pet care and covers feeding and grooming. A more masculine version of the classic flowery spas. Geared more towards dog owners. Premium select products such as aromatic shampoos, organic dry foods and fresh snacks. Invoking the image of the experienced canine breeder.

Sun protection, skin hydration and thermal assistance designed for the slopes. They will hang off your jacket and have been engineered to work with gloves. Even the caps are impossible to lose. Burton’s 77 cosmetics come in two distinct perfumes. From the logo to packaging, typography and promotion, all aspects are inspired by the lines made by the riders on the snow. 77 is derived from the company’s year of establishment. Even the stand is meant to be reminiscent of a mountain.

An Onirografos (Greek for dream-writer) is a machine used by the Dream Police investigators to monitor subjects. It’s a concoction based on Terry Gilliam’s patented style of rebellion. The main theme of this year’s Terry Gilliam Film Festival at the Art Palace. The most memorable part of this project was throwing watercolors in the bathtub and taking photos. A mess! And a great metaphor for the amazing journey that sparked up so many new ways of seeing.

Rebranding Royal Enfield was a trip. A legendary company, inextricably linked with British history, defunct for years. One that deals with the most exciting of products such as motorcycles and guns. Has a reputation for endurance and is a symbol for old school roadtrips down India. The new R.E. is the icon of the stylish British adventurer in the modern age. The brand departs from the usual “biker” theme to a more refined look. It revisits its motorcycle’s image and expands into clothes books and accessories. Also restarts its gun production.
