Students were asked to redesign the branding and packaging for Irish company. The aim of the brief was to design a new innovative brand for traditional and new tea drinkers, including such factors as fun, joy, determination and sense of adventure. As Mrs.Doyle is one of the characters from TV show ‘Father Ted’ I tried to implement Irish humor into the designs. The package had to look appealing and exciting. For the main motif I used a doily and a logo, mixed with various illustrations and colour schemes for each infusion. Bigger quantities were packed in plastic, resealable bags. For the business cards I proposed small tea samples with the logo at the front and the contact details at the back. On the web-site customers can order products, win competitions, upload pictures from their tea-parties and share opinions about ‘seasonal, limited edition, infusions’. ISTD 'Not Just Fleurons' brief, was meant to celebrate existence of plants in our life. I believe that when you die and you being buried in the earth, you are a part of nature once again - You 'become' a plant. My approach to this project was through a very personal self reflective process. I wanted to research preexisting ideas and traditions associated with this as well as similar ways of thinking.While assembling my material I mainly used books, poetry, quotations and my own photography. An accordion type piece mirrors the cycle of life and death, printed on recycled, uncoated, light sensitive paper, intends to remind the reader that after time everything decays. the Fashion graduates in NCAD. My concept was to mix bizarre, minimal and modern aesthetics with the interesting catwalk location which was in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. For the photoshoot I chose a white backdrop which allowed me to focus all of the viewer’s attention on the outfits. The format of the catalogue is different from previous years as the spine moves 5mm at a time, which creates an easy to navigate ‘tab system’. The structure and design is supposed to emphasise the importance of each of the fifteen graduates. Their names are on the front cover which creates an interesting pattern. This motif is then used again on the invitations and posters. There were two shows, one at 3pm and one at 8pm. The iron reflects the preparation for the final show and the passage of time. The back of the invitation reveals short notes made out of keywords which describe each collection.
