Strategically, this campaign is meant to re-frame the allergy pill category between fast-acting medicines (like Benadryl) and 24 hour pills that must be taken well in advance of symptoms (think Claritin). So the focus is pretty much on questioning the logic of proactively doping yourself with medicine before you need it...particularly in morning media, when allergy sufferers usually pop their 24 hour pills. And while these big, sprawling platform campaigns tend to favor ubiquity over brilliant, individual executions, I think this campaign—through its heavy use of alternative media and contextually-relevant executions—still manages to create a compelling story for the brand.
