Track Consulting Ltd. needed a website re-design as resent changes in the company made their current design and content inaccurate.

I was also employed to design, create and update the companies brochure and other documentation templates and presentations.

I was employed to design and create a corporate identity for Evans & Jones Solicitors. They wanted an identity to demonstrate the professional legal services they provide whilst reflecting the personal level of a small business led by two female solicitors.

I then designed and developed a website in keeping with their corporate identity.

Magazine Layout based on my first year at Nottingham Trent. We were given the task of setting 500 or so words of self written text combined with images.

A group animation project based on the design process. The thought behind our animation was that although our inspiration and ideas seem to appear "one by one" in our minds, we are able to bring them all together to create a final outcome.

This is my book cover design for the Puffin Design Award brief. The book this year was James and the Giant Peach.

Began by experimenting with different type. No real direction of reasoning behind the type I eventually chose. I then re-read the synopsis of the book and read “As the sun rises, the inhabitants of the giant peach see glimmering skyscrapers peeking above the clouds...”. This led to a sketch for the back cover of skyscrapers breaking through clouds.

My idea for the front page came after reading “The seagulls are then tied to the broken stem of the fruit...... The mass of seagulls lifts the giant peach into the air and away from the sharks.....”. I then sketched the title being lifted out of the sea by these “strings”.

Type used was hand drawn and then penned in Illustrator. Back cover blurb text is Gill Sans.

Type terms define our practice with “rules” and “regulations”. I wanted to show that we take these guidelines and apply them in new and interesting ways. Hand made type taken from Hand Job and replicated by myself. Each term has a credit to its original designer.

I didn’t want to show visual examples of what I was defining, instead I wanted to show a different perspective of each term using the following criteria. My own response to term, alternative definition (when the word is used outside of a typographic context), a tweet from the last week using the word and the first result from a google search of the word.

Each term is hand generated taking inspiration from the type design of several artists featured in the book Hand Job by Michael Perry. I have then scanned in my original drawings and converted them to vector form using Illustrator. I wanted to keep the hand produced essence of my original sketches so used the pen tool very loosely and tried to avoid using perfectly straight lines.
