After researching the greetings card market and also the 16-34 age group, I noticed that there was one thing the industry hadn’t addressed - Mental Well-being. From my research I discovered that depression and anxiety is a common problem within the demographic, it is especially common for university students. These issues are created due to transition and change happening during this period and it is a time for self discovery. There are a variety of cognitive therapies to help sustain a positive mental attitude and this is something I wanted to incorporate in my range of cards. I decided to create a series of mantras to remind people of the important things in life and a small escape from the chaotic world. I feel a greetings card is the perfect platform for a mantra as it is from someone special, so they can interpret it in a unique and meaningful way.
