Berge is a portable fan. It uses a 9v battery and a computer case fan. This project was aimed as a proposal for Vornado (it was not sponsored or is associated with the company in any other way).

Geist is a chess set that glows in the dark. Inspired by the organic shapes found in nature, these pieces were created using 3D-printers.</description>

In collaboration with the University of Cincinnati's Nursing Program. Empathy was the goal of this project; understanding what it was like to be one of these users. So what did I learn? What do most Rollators fail at? Striking at the hearts of their users! Talking with this group of people it's easy to see that they are so much more than their problems. My goal was to create a conversation piece.

Through the mentorship of Bill Ropp, Fuji &#38; Sram presented the task of designing an electric bike for the American market. We soon realized that most people couldn’t recognize or even describe an “e-bike.” This provided the exciting potential for us to create the definitive design. It was a group project combining the efforts of five product designers. Our goal was to create a design that was desirable and valued as an alternative transportation vehicle.

The OnCycle is designed to convey the intrinsic advantages of an electric bike. The integrated lights, battery-level display, and illuminated motor all clearly communicate the bike’s electric nature. The motor located behind the pedal cranks, was illuminated to convey the source of an e-bikes uniqueness: a bottom-bracket motor. In a prioritized effort to lower rider intimidation the frame hides its mechanical complexity and integrates many components such as a D-lock, rack, pannier, and lights.

Canvas, as its name suggests, is a place to put creative work, such as ideas &#38; notes. Its portable form factor can be taken to where inspiration may strike. Aside from basic sketch functionality, Canvas includes a calendar, a social feed, &#38; a multitasking dashboard.

I was working in Hamburg during the spring of 2011. Everyday I would eat with two people from the office: Torsten &#38; Matthias. We tried many different places together, but soon settled on the Kantine. For me, it wasn’t so much about the food, but growing a bond with these two guys. These are the Kantine Stools: Torsten &#38; Matthias. It’s a story about growing a bond with time and celebrating the rituals.

The Kantine stools glows from within when sat on. With time the color of the light changes from cool to warm, symbolizing the warmth of a growing relationship.
