		<description>Tortoise life.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0155.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0155_o.jpg" data-mid="327337"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0160.jpg" width="550" height="413" width_o="550" height_o="413" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0160_o.jpg" data-mid="327347"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
。YONEとSTASH

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0167.jpg" width="480" height="361" width_o="480" height_o="361" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0167_o.jpg" data-mid="327348"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0168.jpg" width="500" height="375" width_o="500" height_o="375" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0168_o.jpg" data-mid="327350"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0170.jpg" width="545" height="440" width_o="545" height_o="440" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0170_o.jpg" data-mid="327351"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0173.jpg" width="562" height="436" width_o="562" height_o="436" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0173_o.jpg" data-mid="327352"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0175.jpg" width="590" height="438" width_o="590" height_o="438" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0175_o.jpg" data-mid="327361"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0180.jpg" width="670" height="502" width_o="700" height_o="525" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0180_o.jpg" data-mid="327364"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0200.jpg" width="500" height="375" width_o="500" height_o="375" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/76479/IMG_0200_o.jpg" data-mid="327369"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

		<description>A night with Yone chan.

It's been a week since being back from Japan. Work was piled up over my head, yet I was a man completely consumed by wanderlust. Before I realized I was calling my soul brother, Yu san. "Sorry for the short notice but do you wanna go to LA this weekend?"

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/74912/IMG_0070.jpg" width="600" height="452" width_o="600" height_o="452" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/74912/IMG_0070_o.jpg" data-mid="320458"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Went straight to WeSC store party at Robertson Blvd.

Yone chan, WeSC founder Gregory, Yu san and mysterious Korean DJ from Australia.

		<description>Rice field, unpaved road and house music.

HIDEO KOBAYASHI

I needed a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hopped on a Shinkansen for an hour and half and found myself in Sakudaira, Nagano prefecture. A short trip to visit master, HIDEO KOBAYASHI.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3945w.jpg" width="400" height="300" width_o="400" height_o="300" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3945w_o.jpg" data-mid="276456"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
There are cute girls in Nagano.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3995w.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3995w_o.jpg" data-mid="276457"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3970w.jpg" width="670" height="365" width_o="800" height_o="436" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3970w_o.jpg" data-mid="276458"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
After passing through 3 mountains and dozen rice fields stands Hideo's 11 room house in the middle of yet another rice field. This is home to state of the art Fuente Studio and Nagano Kitchen. Heavy 4 on 4 blasting through all 4 studio speakers. Absolutely crisp kick and snare, the intricate layers of sound blew me away to some different dimension. Hideo Magic.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3991w.jpg" width="670" height="502" width_o="750" height_o="563" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_3991w_o.jpg" data-mid="276478"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Roland TR-808 in the house.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_4010w.jpg" width="670" height="298" width_o="800" height_o="357" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_4010w_o.jpg" data-mid="276480"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
We went to Uminojuku, one of the oldest Shukubamachi (Inn town) where people rested on their way to Osaka and Kyoto back in Edo period. The whole town looked like a set from Kurosawa movie!

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_4006w.jpg" width="500" height="375" width_o="500" height_o="375" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_4006w_o.jpg" data-mid="276500"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Nagano is famous for their SOBA. With Tororo, it's the bomb.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_4007w.jpg" width="300" height="401" width_o="300" height_o="401" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/65152/IMG_4007w_o.jpg" data-mid="276501"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
And Macha shaved ice.

		<description>A typical day in Tokyo.

Carpe dium!

In one sentence, good design is something that makes you feel good. Good is good..Tokyo is over-flowing with good design and I was just ecstatic the whole time. Is this because I come from a not-so-stylish city like San Francisco? Is this fresh feeling going to fade if I lived in Tokyo? who cares. I am just going to enjoy the day. (By pretending to be an obnoxious foreigner and take photos even if they say NO PIKUTUA PUREEZE!)

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3869w.jpg" width="588" height="433" width_o="588" height_o="433" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3869w_o.jpg" data-mid="272732"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3872w.jpg" width="588" height="441" width_o="588" height_o="441" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3872w_o.jpg" data-mid="272735"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
If you are into visually pleasing things, you MUST stop by here. AXIS building in Roppongi. 5F of design excellence ranging from gallery, furniture, books, textile, products etc.. I literally O.D.ed on good design.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3840w.jpg" width="670" height="502" width_o="700" height_o="525" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3840w_o.jpg" data-mid="272718"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Another must stop by place: TOKYO MID-TOWN. Too much to see, too little time. So I won't even post anything but little break time shot :)

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3769w.jpg" width="670" height="502" width_o="700" height_o="525" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3769w_o.jpg" data-mid="272710"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
CIBONE select shop in Aoyama. Nishi Masataka pattern. OPTIC NERVE!!!

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3783w.jpg" width="670" height="502" width_o="700" height_o="525" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3783w_o.jpg" data-mid="272714"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
It's always fascinating to see how stores get creative in displaying our product. Loveless in Aoyama

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3708w.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_3708w_o.jpg" data-mid="272705"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Beautiful encounter. Suzuki kun from United Arrows is a huge fan of incase. Here Suzuki kun with his P-Rod backpack with Andrew kun the designer of P-Rod backpack.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4022w.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4022w_o.jpg" data-mid="272687"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
At night we went to my soul brother Kama's restaurant, PEACE CAFE in Futakotamagawa. Few minutes walk from the station, in a seemingly abandoned bushy area near the river bed glowed a blue light in the pitch dark.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4011w.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4011w_o.jpg" data-mid="276528"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4034w.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4034w_o.jpg" data-mid="272693"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Once we got there, I was immediately removed from the chaos of Tokyo: under an immense night sky lit a quaint and chic cottage style restaurant. I felt like I was in Cafe del Mar after dark in Ibiza or something. We sat outside by the river and Emma played and sang a beautiful lullaby. The Mediterranean style dishes were superb.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4039w.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/64268/IMG_4039w_o.jpg" data-mid="272696"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
And the family. True oasis　in a dissonant dessert. </description>

		<description>It's been an amazing trip.

		<description>More is more vs. less is more.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3509w.jpg" width="600" height="450" width_o="600" height_o="450" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3509w_o.jpg" data-mid="256963"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;

What fascinated me about Japanese culture is it's duality in all things. This could be a quite lengthy topic but focusing on design, this subject is apparent everywhere.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3512w.jpg" width="389" height="534" width_o="389" height_o="534" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3512w_o.jpg" data-mid="256964"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Outdoor: Making a decision is always tough when everything is on your face.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3521w.jpg" width="369" height="519" width_o="369" height_o="519" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3521w_o.jpg" data-mid="256965"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Indoor: More is More. Space is limited but information is abundant.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3527w.jpg" width="400" height="534" width_o="400" height_o="534" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3527w_o.jpg" data-mid="256983"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Then you run into such a simple and beautiful product such as this iida phone.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3853w.jpg" width="450" height="362" width_o="450" height_o="362" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3853w_o.jpg" data-mid="256988"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Or this clean and minimal restroom sign.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/Picture-2w.jpg" width="670" height="393" width_o="744" height_o="437" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/Picture-2w_o.jpg" data-mid="256993"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Or this Higashiyama store where you feel like you in a museum than a pastry store. Just product. Nothing else.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3737w.jpg" width="469" height="330" width_o="469" height_o="330" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/2707/60355/IMG_3737w_o.jpg" data-mid="256994"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
They've taken it as far as making the product "invisible" by designing a radio into a bottle shape so it blends in with your other shower bottles. (Although this MUJI product is designed by a European. But for Japan market :)
