THE MTV SHOW: Opening Title
3D, Animation, Compositing

Working closely with William Chan, of TMRRW studio, I've been responsible to visualize the 3D, animation and compositing for this 20s opener.

<img src="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/34_MOS_DOWNRIGHT_905.jpg" width="905" height="765" width_o="905" height_o="765" src_o="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/34_MOS_DOWNRIGHT_o.jpg" data-mid="23258256" border="0" align="left"/>
MINISTRY OF SOUND: DOWNRIGHT
Design, 3D, Animation, Compositing

The client requested for an opener that is gritty but yet retains some polished quality to it. This was designed to reflect the music label Downright.

<img src="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/34_MOS_HUSSLE_905.jpg" width="905" height="510" width_o="905" height_o="510" src_o="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/34_MOS_HUSSLE_o.jpg" data-mid="23258263" border="0" align="left"/>
MINISTRY OF SOUND: HUSSLE
Design, 3D, Animation, Compositing

While creating this opener, client wanted the animation and design to reflect the 2D logo design they provided. By taking the multi-coloured stripes on the logo and making it as squarish 3D rings, it is visually more interesting.

<img src="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/34_MOS_905.jpg" width="905" height="1027" width_o="905" height_o="1027" src_o="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/34_MOS_o.jpg" data-mid="23258321" border="0" align="left"/>

MINISTRY OF SOUND
Design, 3D, Animation, Compositing

The client requested for an opener that is sleek and stylish to reflect their music label. What I like about their logo is that it could look so abstract when dissected apart. Thus the video was about showing interesting parts of the logo coming together piece by piece.

<img src="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/36_MOS_ANNUAL2013_905.jpg" width="905" height="1029" width_o="905" height_o="1029" src_o="http://payload104.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/4392429/36_MOS_ANNUAL2013_o.jpg" data-mid="23258344" border="0" align="left"/>
MINISTRY OF SOUND: ANNUAL 2013
Design, 3D, Animation, Compositing

For this year's Annual promo, the artwork given by the client was of their logo opening up infinitely inside. Playing with the idea of this infinite opening and russian doll concept, we collaborated to create a 15s TVC promo.

After working on this for some time, it's great to finally share my first series.
In each image, I take a subject matter and submerge them in light and texture to visualize a foreign, undefined space. I want to explore using this space to reflect a certain emotion.

This project is also on my Behance

UNBREAKABLE
Artwork for Kult Magazine

Kult is a small scale independent magazine from Singapore that is distributed for free in Asia.
Featuring a different theme for each issue, their issue themed 'Unbreakable', asks guests artists to visualize this spirit of resilience. I get to contribute an artwork along with so many other great guest artists. A big thanks to the awesome people at Kult!

"You may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us,
and the world will live as one"
John Lennon, Imagine

Way back when I was growing up, my dad always played albums that he liked in the car. Many of the songs are still familiar with me today, if not more. And he's certainly influenced me very much in music. Now, having the chance to create something related to the music we shared is really enjoyable and special. This is a portrait of the famous Lennon and capturing his sense of idyllic imagination and vision he has had.

Life should not be lived just by words, but more of actions. Even so, I find it interesting to work on these typography artworks as a form of personal advice to myself (and others too if you could relate). As I discover new quotes and with time along the way, I hope to add more to this set. From newest to oldest below:

8/ No Aim No Gain: Aim makes more sense than pain
<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/969186/keatleong_aim905_905.jpg" width="905" height="547" width_o="905" height_o="547" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/969186/keatleong_aim905_o.jpg" data-mid="15791164" border="0" align="left"/>

7/ Party

6/ Duality: A continuation of the style I used in Fuck Yeah<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/969186/keatleong_bravery_905.jpg" width="905" height="500" width_o="905" height_o="500" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/49451/969186/keatleong_bravery_o.jpg" data-mid="12067780" border="0" align="left"/>

Omega Code is a project that mixes the world of music and art. In 2009, they opened space for poster submissions to the design community, where artists can interpret and visualize their genre of music. 20 chosen submissions will be featured on the book.

This was selected as the top 20 designs and featured in Advanced Photoshop Issue 63, which is about Music Industry design.
