The other day I got my fabric textas out and had a play. I can't draw to save myself, so chose to draw triangles and framed it in one of my Italian brass frames. I've got quite a few frames so I'm thinking about playing around with the textas and see what I can come up with to frame.

I've got heaps of really small scraps of leather which I've been wondering what to make with. The other day I cut a few to make purses, thinking I'd layer them up as the detail near the zip. After cutting up a few pieces I started thinking about buntings. I'm not a big fan of buntings, but love anything with a quirky twist, such as my bunting made of postage stamps (from Newspaper Taxi). To piece my leather bunting, I put them through the sewing machine and they are ready to hang up straight away.

My friends made me these cute shaped biscuits, some yummy ginger slices, and also gave me cheese, crackers and wine, after I made some bibs for them. A totally unexpected gift and so lovely.

I have to ask them where they got the cookie cutters from, because there were a whole assortment of animal shapes, including a moose, but its antlers broke before I could take a photo.

Thanks Holger and Fiona :)

I've nearly finished my quilt, I just need to add the binding. The pieces were starting to come off - the iron on paper doesn't seem to last, it is just temporary. I sewed lots of lines on it to ensure it is held together, which also gave it a quilted look. Planning my next quilt already :)

Sitting next to a heater, making a quilt I've been wanting to make for years, watching abc iview, drinking a cup of tea. Bliss

The quilt is the leftover scrap from the bibs I've made over the years - its from the necklines, which left a tear drop shape. I've ironed them onto double sided paper interfacing, and am slowly ironing them onto the paper. Don't think I'll appliqué them on, I'll just sew around them. I don't mind them fraying a little and don't want the appliqué look.
