		<description>I helped to organise the 2nd Durango Surf Festival that took place in February 2012. In order to publicise the event I art directed a stop-motion photography experiment together with Pello Salaberria and the participation of local surfers. The shoot took around 3 hours to complete on a cold winters morning in December.

Video edited by Pello Salaberria.

		<description>Led by Jonathan Griffin, The Surf Project is a Christian surf ministry based in Ireland.

The logo I designed is based on the triquetra, an ancient Irish symbol that depicts the Holy Trinity - the concept of 'three in one', a never-ending loop. At the centre of the symbol is a perfect wave. Ireland has a lot of these :)

		<description>AGENCY: di-da komunikakzioa

Bizibike denda berri bat da, Durangon zabaltzen ari dena. Hemen azaltzen dut branding prozesua pixkat.
(Bizibike is a new shop that is being opened in Durango. Here, I share the branding process).

IZENA:
Izena da erakunde edo enpresa baten markaren osotasunean iraupen gehien izan dezakeen elementua. Eta izena da gogoratzekotan gogoratuko dena. Era berean, erakundeak transmititu nahi duena koherentziaz transmititu dezakeena.

Durangon zabalduko duten bizikleta denda berriko jabeek izen zerrenda ekarri ziguten di-dakooi eta denen artean negozio horretako izaera, arima eta beste negozioekiko balio erantsia duena aukeratu genuen: Bizibike.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/izena_2.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="400" width_o="670" height_o="400" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/izena_2_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Bike hitza ez da ez euskara ez gaztelania. Baina oso barneratuta dugu erosle potentzialak garenon artean. Esan daiteke Bizkaia eta Euskal Herria dela salmenta eremua.

Bestetik, bike hitzak “kanpotik datorrenaren” esentzia ematen du. Kasu honetan, filosofia berri bat ekartzera datoz denda berri honekin.

Azkenik, garrantzizkoena: “bizi” berbak osatzen du bizibike izena. Denda berri honek saltzen duena bizitzeko modu bat da, ez bizikletak bakarrik. Bizikletak denda askotan aurki ditzakegu. Denda honetako jabeek, bizikletarekin bizitzea transmititzen dute. Ez bizikletan ibiltzea. Edo bizikleta edukitzea. Izan ere, eredu batetatik irten da izena eta dendak eskaintzen duena biribiltzen du, koherentziarekin.

IKURRA:
Bizibike ikurrak hainbat esanahi ditu, eta hiru funtsezko multzotan azal daitezke.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/ikurra_3.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="400" width_o="670" height_o="400" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/ikurra_3_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Praktikoa
Bizibike produktu izarretako bat, bizikleta tolesgarria da. Objektu handi bat txikiago bihurtzeko aukera ematen du, eramangarri izateko eta edonon gordetzeko modukoa. Ikurraren oinarria gurpil askoren errepresentazio abstraktua da, bata bestearen barruan biltzen duen meta-gurpil bat, handitik txikirako bidean puntu berde bat duelarik helmuga. Trafiko seinaleetan bezala, bide ematen duen puntu berdea.

Hirikoa
Bizibike produktuak batez ere hiri barruko erabilerara begira daude. Herri eta hiri barruan ibiltzeko bizikleta praktikoak dira. Hausnarketa prozesuan, ‘Burgess &#38; Hoyt’ ereduarekin egin genuen topo, herri edo hiri bat zonaldeka zatitu eta antolatzen duen eredua. Hiritarrak kanpoko zonaldeetan bizi dira eta erdigunera joaten dira lanera edo jarduera ekonomikoak burutzera. Herri handiek, adibidez, eredu hori erabiltzen dute garraio zerbitzuetarako mapetan. Adibidez, Londoneko edo Madrilgo metroetan. Bizibike ikurrak kontzeptu hori ere komunikatzen du.

Bizimodua
Produktu soil bat ez ezik, bizitzeko modu baten erakusgarri ere izan gura du ikurrak, bizitzeko eta pentsatzeko modu berri bat. Bizibike eskaintza zabal bat da, kontsumitzaileei aukera mugagabeak ematen dizkiena. Aukeren eskaintza zabal, mugagabe eta infinitu hori erakustera datoz ikurraren barruan errepresentatutakoa: gurpil bat beste baten barruan, eta horrela etengabe. Azkenik, bizikletak berarekin darama garraiobide osasungarri, iraunkor eta ekologiko baten izaera, ikurrean puntu berde horrekin adierazten dena.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/ikurrak_4.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="757" width_o="670" height_o="757" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/ikurrak_4_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

LOGOTIPOA:
Hau da logotipoa (bertsio horizontala eta bertikala).

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/logoa_5.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="400" width_o="670" height_o="400" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/9284/2046626/logoa_5_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

		<description>I recently designed the poster and t-shirt for this year's Zarautz Noseriding Classic 2011 presented by Vans

The event is put together by a great crew of log riders from Zarautz, led by Mikel Urigoitia and Ion Eizaguirre. It's a real pleasure to be able to help out somehow with something that you love and with such great people!

Together with Mikel Citores (who took the picture for the poster) and Ion Eizaguirre, we have set up the Alternative Collective, a website where we document lifestyle projects using analogue cameras.

The Korrika is an event to promote the use of the Basque language (euskara). A route is mapped out over the entire Basque Country going from town to town, and the route is divided into 1km sections. At every km there is a marker. Groups, businesses, friends, individuals, organisations each buy a KM and they are given a specially designed running vest. They run their respective KM, taking a baton and passing it on to the next runners. The run doesn’t stop for 10 days!! Day and night the baton (lekukoa) is passed from person to person all across the Basque Country. Inside the baton is a special written message that is read out at the final destination. The 17th Korrika (each Korrika takes place every two years) started in Trebiñu on 7th April 2011 and finished in Donostia on 17th April 2011. It is attended by thousands of people and is testament to the support euskara, one of the world’s oldest languages, and very likely the oldest language in Europe.

Together with my colleague Gotzon Garaizabal, we branded this entire event. Here's a glimpse at how...

		<description>In January 2011, Durango played host to the first surf festival ever held there. It was a great day involving a fancy dress surf in the morning, a great lunch, raffles, a concert and film showings.

I art-directed the poster design for the event. Because we only needed around 60 posters we thought it best to make them each individually. We got a local printer to donate some pieces of card (40x70) and then we laid them all out in a fronton (Basque pelota court). We scaled a 15ft wall and set the video to record.

This is what we did...
