		<description>Tyvek Vase
Material: DuPont™ Tyvek®

Tyvek vase is made out of waterproof paper, DuPont™ Tyvek®, a nonwoven high-density polyethylene fibers. The use of Tyvek® approaches a different way of using industrial material by transforming it into a beautiful home object. Designed just in time for Valentine's day, the objective was to create a simple and light (yet strong enough to stand upright) package for flowers. Flowers will go back to the soil, Tvyek will have a second life too; repurposed for products like corrugated pipes and landscape material.

		<description>Sweeeeet Tableware:
Material: Yeot (a traditional Korean dessert)
The project belongs to SUP (Seoul Utopia Project) and Jiwon Choi x Alice Jung

"Yeot" is a traditional Korean confection made with grains, without any artificial additives, which is served as a stick. Its natural flavor is rich and has been enjoyed as a traditional dessert for centuries. Today, Yeot has been referred as “Grandma’s favorite candy” and found mostly in tourist attractions in Korea. The process of making Yeot is relatively slow yet intricate; including cooking rice, fermenting rice for hours, boiling rice water for hours, and then stretching to turn it into a taffy.

The objective was to make Yeot into a playful and enjoyable set of tableware that almost glorifies its beautiful process. Yeot takes a different shape to be served in a completely new way: It has transformed into petite-sized bowls and plates to serve various kinds of Korean traditional desserts in the sweetest way.

White Yeot: giner and rice/ Brown Yeot: barley

		<description>Pretzel Table, aluminum rod + vegetable tanned leather, 19in x 19in x 18in

Cursive script was designed to write quickly by hand. A single complex stroke becomes a connected sequence of words. The speed of the technique allows one to write without lifting the pen. The table uses leather, an already luxurious material, and juxtaposes it with the spontaneous lines of cursive script.

Pretzel Table was formed with a single aluminum rod covered with vegetable tanned leather. Once the curves have formed, the table was boiled into hot water which makes soft leather to become strong and rigid. A tension is created through the pairing of a traditionally crafted material with a process designed for efficiency, revealing an aesthetic based on a new way of making. The resulting form speaks to directly to the process of its production. In the end, the mix of color and form is reminiscent of Pretzels.

		<description>Chair + Chair = Bench, Maple

CHAIR + CHAIR = BENCH is a literal definition of a bench. Two identical chairs are bonded to create a different perspective of seating. It is humorous in its strict form as well as being a multi-purposeful seating system.

<description>Traces: Making Visible the Invisible: Data in Art and Design
Benetton Group's Communication Research Center(Treviso, Italy).
Project Director: Aaron Siegel

In collaboration with:
Guido Chiefalo (Product Designer),
Jonathan Chomko (Digital Media Artist),
David Raffoul (Product Designer)

The project started with our interest in physical movement, especially when we are at work. Utilizing Futurism 2.0, each person at work was individually recorded with a given time. These collected data of movements have finally come down to a single image. In the end, we are left with information on which parts of our body were mostly moved or weren't moved at all, during the day at work.

8 portraits of designers/artists at work:

		<description>Chair Morceaux
Material: stainless steel and reindeer fur

In Chair Morceaux, different pieces come together to form a chair. To unify these separate elements, the connections between sides, seat, and back are visually apparent. The design is a result of dividing the chair into different components to explore the relationship between one another. The process involves considering how the sum of its parts comes together to form a pleasing aesthetic quality in its composition and proportion.

		<description>Light Scribble, Twintex PP
Exhibited at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in May 2011.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/103844/1326218/web_light.png" width="478" height="534" width_o="478" height_o="534" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/3/103844/1326218/web_light_o.png" data-mid="6891815"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
Inspired by pencil scribbles on paper, the Light Scribble chandelier was designed as a new luxurious form of chandelier with industrial material: intertwining the decorative element (line work) and the functional element (lights) into one. The volumetric form of the chandelier was created by overlapping 2 dimensional scribbles.

Since TWINTEX® becomes rigid when heated, it provided a structure for light fixtures while still appearing as a 3 dimensional drawing in the air. Within the form, assigned spirals are designed to hold LED bulbs, which retain beams of light.

This pendant chandelier is designed for urban dwellers. One chandelier in a room is a sculptural light fixture. However, in greater quantities, the chandeliers create an intriguing ambiance of interwoven beams of light that would work for a condensed interior environment such as a restaurant or bar.

		<description>Raison D'etre,
-Installation for SAMSUNG@WORK@RISD,
RISD President's House

"For to me this site-specific piece, incorporating Maeda’s personal collection and faculty and student work, stands as a palpable, microcosmic example of the collaborative synergy that exists in the house as a whole."
-Justine, Designskool

Here is an article featuring Raison d'etre click here!

Raison d’etre is a site-specific installation at RISD president John Maeda’s house in collaboration with professor and designer Lane Myer for the Samsung Creative Leadership Workshop at RISD. In this small room, we added speech bubbles to John Maeda’s curious collection of objects – from an old typewriter to an Eames chair- and in each bubble, stated in Korean the reason why each object should exist.

The objective was to create an whimsical icebreaker between RISD professors/students and SAMSUNG Electronics executive members from South Korea on a welcoming reception hosted at John Maeda's house.
