		<description>GameStop was preparing for the launch of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. We worked with a team of agencies to support the "Surprise Attack" promotion with digital creative and a social media campaign. 

Our goal was to recruit both hardcore and casual gamers to pre-order the game at GameStop. Gamers could visit SurprizeAttack.com to enter to win prizes from the game including a MW2 edition Hummer H2. There were two prizes given out each day, but you never knew what it was going to be until hours before the giveaway.

HIGH-IMPACT PAGE TAKEOVERS
We partnered with sites such as AskMen, GameSpot, The Onion and others to create custom page takeovers that would display the site in night vision. 





RICH MEDIA BANNERS
Since prizes were constantly changing, we developed banners that were dynamically updated with an image and description of the next prize and a countdown to the giveaway. Gamers could enter for that prize directly from the banner ad so they didn't have to leave the site they were on. We also built in sharing functionality and additional content such as video trailers and downloads.

FACEBOOK PAGE
There was already a tremendous amount of organic buzz about the game. To leverage the conversation going on in social media, a Facebook page was created to serve as a communications center for the campaign. It allowed for updates about prizes, messages about the launch events and hosted conversation about the game. A content calendar was developed to organize the posts and included hints on upcoming prizes.

@SURPRIZEATTACK ON TWITTER
To amplify the reach of the promotion we developed a Surprize Attack feed on Twitter. Posts were coordinated between Twitter and Facebook to let more people know about the prizes. There are also hints given out on Twitter such as links to other sites, YouTube videos, or search results that made discovering the next prize like a scavenger hunt for gamers. They rushed to learn the next prize and be the first to tweet about it, thereby increasing the buzz.

We partnered with Pandora to create the Frusion Music Mixer which allowed people to drag and drop fruit to blend their own music station. Music genres were assigned to the fruit to create the music mixes. For example, when someone chose coconut and pineapple, it triggered tropical music. The music mixer was as promoted through mobile banners within the Pandora app.

We knew that we could reach on-the-go Moms through mobile so created a campaign of expandable mobile banner ads that would open up and allow them to find Frusion by typing in their zip code. 






To communicate that Frusion is perfect on the go, we created a series of digital ads ranging from standard flash, to rich media to interstitials and video pre-roll units. Each had the bottle morph into fluid characters.
