Thirty-five Chicago residents participated in a transmedia documentary based data derived from their movement. As per the stipulations, on Black Friday of 2011, everyone went somewhere in the city they’d never been before and wrote a short story describing their adventures. All the participants’ movements were tracked and combined with their stories and photos. It all culminated into a happening, short film, prints, and a book. I photographed the participants and created a window display for the show. The display consisted of hundreds of paper chains that represented the data trails left by those who participated. In the following emails between the product manager and me, she told me that she showed the book to the CEO of Blurb and it was really well received.
