		<description>(Credits: Creator)
In February 2012, Goodby, Silverstein &#38; Partners laid off 150+ employees following the loss of two large accounts. In the wake of this layoff, I decided to help since I knew many of the people affected. With GrabSomeGoodby.com, I framed the job loss not as a negative thing but as a wealth of talent newly available on the market. Through the help of other current and past Goodby employees, this message was shared with colleagues and industry folks alike, resulting in a concentrated but effective media storm around the site. With articles in Agency Spy, Ad Week, Adrants, Creativity, and AdAge, the ad industry was abuzz about the site and all wanted to grab some Goodby.

Many of the people featured on the site have written me saying they have more job offers than they know what to do with. I'm happy to have helped these truly talented people, many of whom I call my friends.

The results: Over 50 Goodby people sent me their information to be featured, as well as many non-GSPers who loved the idea. Beyond the countless job offers and leads, the site saw 25,000 visitors in the first week, resulting in well over 200,000 page views. Over 1,000 people liked it on Facebook and it generated well over 1,000 tweets. Even a month after launch, the site is seeing steady traffic and new jobs posted to the job board daily. All done for free.

Here are some of the results and articles, in no particular order.

Following a conversation about pajama-grams, I thought of other grams that might be popular. Grand-Am-O-Grams -- when someone burns out in their Pontiac on your front lawn -- didn't seem scalable so Hamm-O-Gram was born. The idea was simple: physically mail people pictures of handsome man extraordinaire, Jon Hamm (aka Don Draper) for Valentine's Day. Also included would be a love note from Mr. Hamm smelling of aftershave and bejeweled with glitter.

I created hammogram.com, a simple ecommerce site chock-full of tongue-in-cheek explanations and reviews. Using a list of press contacts, I shot out one PR email and waited to see the response. Said response was phenomenal. Launched on a Tuesday, the site was picked up across the web and newspapers, leading to 30,000 visitors, 10,000,000 twitter impressions and 800 Hamm-O-Gram sales in 2 1/2 days. While it the project was sadly cut short (mostly because I am not Jon Hamm), the enthusiasm from customers and the press was contagious. Just check out the mad google results.

This project took 5 hours to design the site and associated materials (letterhead &#38; press materials) and cost $10 (for the url). It could have been a great way to help promote the 5th season of Mad Men. C'est La Vie! Look for more gram ideas in the future!

		<description>Here are some of the projects/hobbies I have when not working.

Wednesday Hump
&#60;img src="http://payload18.cargocollective.com/1/2/83605/2669893/Picture 26.png" width="670" height="431" width_o="1481" height_o="954" src_o="http://payload18.cargocollective.com/1/2/83605/2669893/Picture 26_o.png" data-mid="13527997" border="0" align="left"/&#62;Wednesdayhump.com was born on a slow Wednesday. I was in need of a pick-me-up. One simple website later, I had my fix. Visit the site, rock to a Digital Underground hit and revel in a bevy of hump wednesday sayings. The site was originally connected to a twitter bot that would send a link to the site to anyone who mentioned "hump wednesday". After 4,700 tweets, I felt I had adequately saturated the mid-week hump demographic.

Product Concepting
&#60;img src="http://payload18.cargocollective.com/1/2/83605/2669893/298563_10100415055177900_904630_55836476_1589747278_n.jpeg" width="640" height="960" width_o="640" height_o="960" src_o="http://payload18.cargocollective.com/1/2/83605/2669893/298563_10100415055177900_904630_55836476_1589747278_n_o.jpeg" data-mid="13917477"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
I'm always thinking of new ideas for products and services. Like the product featured here, the skagg scarf. Skagg, the Swedish word for "beard" is worn to look like a shaggy beard but easily wraps around your need to keep you warm.

Mobile Development
Similarly to physical products, I love concepting for the mobile platform. Here is an older idea designed simply to protect all ideas henceforth!
&#60;img src="http://payload18.cargocollective.com/1/2/83605/2669893/iNDAshot.png" width="670" height="456" width_o="1042" height_o="710" src_o="http://payload18.cargocollective.com/1/2/83605/2669893/iNDAshot_o.png" data-mid="13917609"  border="0" align="left"/&#62;
(Click to see PDF explanation)

"The Single Life"

I dabble in improv comedy, a dabbling which led to me becoming a character on "The Single Life". I play the believable character of "JD", the smart-talking pal of a hapless single. This project combines my loves of comedy acting, writing and good looking ladies. Watch the series.

It's no secret that advertising employs great looking people. So I made a site to celebrate it. People submit pictures of themselves and their ridiculously good-looking colleagues and I post them. I merely add a nice comment that puts a feather in the cap.

As part of Prius Projects, we wanted to take the qualities of a Prius and translate them into a bicycle. However, auto makers designing bikes is nothing new. All we knew is that we wanted to avoid the conventional schlock that too often befell these projects: unrideable designs, unimaginative features and no true tie to the biking community. So to succeed, we enlisted the help of renowned carbon bike builders Parlee and the internets biggest cyclist blogger, John Prolly of ProllyIsNotProbably.com. As for the technology we would surely be incorporating, we turned to the engineering gods at Deep Local.

In a highly collaborative process, we created a lightweight bike that had the features of a time trial bike but the comfort of road bike geometry. A built-in iPhone dock housed the bikes computer brain that could be used not only to monitor stats like speed and watts, but control the Di2 electronic gear shifters. But the rider could control these shifters in a more sci-fi way: with his mind. Using a specialized brain-wave reading helmet, the rider could control the intensity of his ride simply by thinking about his gear interval.

The final product captured the attention of the online bicycle community, sparking both debates and praise. It also captured the minds of tech geeks as evidenced by the interest at Fastcodesign, engadget and Wired.

Below are pictures of the bicycle in various states of completion.

In late 2011, I was hired by HUGE to help promote a book written by CEO, Aaron Shapiro. Since the book dealt with prospering in the digital age, we illustrated the point by showing those who had not.

In 2011, after two successful years of selling fake beards and wigs, I formed Headline Costumes, a niche Halloween costume site specializing in outfits of the people, characters and memes made popular in the previous year. With the help of three friends, we formed an LLC, built a website, learned logistics, fullfillment and even international costume design and import. Further, we used analytics and trends to determine what costumes would be the biggest hits. Aside from maintaining the website, we created a fully integrated ad campaign that included automated Twitter profiles, Google adwords and a national TV buy.

The results: While selling thousands of items, we garnered press from The Huffington Post, New York Magazine, Glamour.com, DailyMail.co.uk, LA Times, Gawker.com, Time.com, TheDailyBeast.com and many other media outlets. Our exclusive Princess Beatrice Hat has since appeared on Good Morning America and FOX's "Glee".

In the below video, I model the outfit of the late Kim Jong Ill. I think it may have been my destructive dance moves that finally did him in, but I'm not taking all the credit.

Here I model a mask influenced by a popular meme know as "Troll Face". While other costume sites ignore the power of social media, Headline Costumes fully embraced it, delivering costumes that couldn't be found elsewhere.

We even had our own billboard in Time Square. Well, we hijacked one anyway.

Toyota's "Ideas For Good" campaign asked everyone how Toyota technologies could help create a better world. In order to explain these complicated technologies, we wrote and produced stylized videos that would communicate their functions in a simple, human way.

Toyota.com/ideasforgood became mission central for this contest. Participants could learn more about the technologies, see other people's ideas for how to repurpose them and submit their own. By closing, the site had received upwards of 8,000 ideas, five of which were actually realized and prototyped. Visit toyota.com/ideasforgood to learn more about the winners.

The Toyota Prius family is growing from one to four models, so to launch the campaign, we teamed up with Hunter Gatherer to create a stop motion animation and jingle that poses the question, 'what is the plural of prius?' We allowed the public to cast their vote at many online hubs (banners, Toyota.com, Facebook, etc.). Further, we created tons of OOH and merchandise to share with fans. Finally, we teamed up with Cartown, a social game on Facebook to simultaneously launch the cars online and off. By the end of voting in early 2011, over 1.2 million people had cast their votes. The winner? Watch for yourself...

In the winter of 2010, Saatchi LA presented Nog Pong, an interactive online game involving robots, eggnog and charitable giving. Sadly, Nog Pong ended with the season, but not before proving itself a resounding success. As the final Ping-Pong ball sailed into an awaiting cup of nog, the site had generated 80,000 video streams, 2,000 Facebook likes, 2,700 tweets and had been played in 66 countries. Covered by Mashable, Creativity, NOTCOT and even NBC, Nog Pong gained media attention far and wide. And because of its success, NogPong was picked up for another holiday season! Hear the results from year two in the below video and get ready for year 3(???) at nogpong.com
