Getting the opportunity to work with one of the biggest fashion and culture magazines has been a real eye opener in to the role design plays in the cultural industries. I have picked up many skills here particularly increasing my knowledge of grids and their uses and how important it is to be organized. And it shows me how a large studio works both in print and digital. Unfortunately because the issue I am working on at the minute isn’t out for a few months I can only show work that has already been published. Yes we had to write a 4000-word report on an aspect of graphic design but we also had to design and structure it visually. The topic I chose to write about can basically be put as this “When artifacts of design are appropriated into art contexts”.
