DROPS was launched at Hyper Island's exhibition "Exploring Technology and Animation" in Stockholm. The game is portrayed on a beautiful 3D projection mapped surface, where you are to control an animated river and collect drops of water from all around the landscape. Through Quarts Composer, MadMapper and Flash, we have accomplished to adapt projection mapping onto live gaming, pushing interactivity to a new extent. This however, is only half the surprise. In addition to using a higher-level technique, we were also determined to produce an installation that would benefit far more people than our visitors in Stockholm. That's why we contacted WaterAid. This is an organization devoted to clean water, sanitation and hygiene across the world and we promised them a value for every drop collected during the exhibition. The money will go to various water projects and our main sponsor will later finance our charity single-handedly.
