Sometimes the club has shows too! I love posters. I LOVE SNAX Illustrated cheap eats! MWAH MOI is a fun linguist project. It takes about 3 seconds ( more if you hang out on the first page for a while). SYMMETRICS is a project in which I worked with musican/producer Antonio Ringor to create music composed from photographs I took in Venice, CA. For the live show we perform and loop each instrument, as well as vocals while the current photograph is projected behind us. During the last song, we encourage the audience members to participate. The purpose of this project is to engulf the audience member in both visual and audio stimulation and afterword audience members are invited to create music/art based on their experience. Currently this project is on hold until there is enough time/funding to mix and master the tracks. But, the raw tracks and the image are up and free on this simple online gallery I created. ?! is a new project consisting of my artwork and experimental/minimalistic piano music I composed and recorded. Currently it is in it's beginning stages - but will develop into interactive web media and music/sounds/samples. I love the freedom of the internet and the new private public performance. Oxymoron indeed. I'm still a true believer of live performance and art, but, this is a new field to play in too. HEART BRAIN BEAT is a project in which musician/DJ Stern and I recorded music based on imaginary scenes/landscapes. Originally these were accompanied with psychedelic animated gifs, but, the project is on hold until later 2011. EE CUMMINGS MUSIC PROJECT is a project in which I composed, sang and recorded 11 E.E. Cummings poems. What is different about this is that I randomly selected pages and sang/composed the music as I read through the poem, staying close to the visual layout of the poem and the initial reaction. Most of the poems I had not read before. The show consists of the poem projected behind me, as if it were a class ( it is, in some regard).Poetry is an amazing tool. A set of words, neatly arranged on a sheet of paper, can transform your world in a very short period of time. It takes discipline and patience to allow yourself to go there. While it exists in song, I feel poetry is becoming less a norm and I find that to be a shame. Society is indeed too rushed these days to stop and smell the roses, no matter if they are red, pink, or raven black ink. All Images © 2013 C.
