Responsibilities: Creative development and direction. Client pitch and concept sketches. Illustrator and photographer direction. Ad layouts.

Description: The FootJoy SYNR-G line of high-end golf shoes struggled in sales after its initial product launch. We saw the opportunity to boost sales  with a relaunch of the shoe through traditional print media with a visually driven concept focused on technology. This approach allow the brand to stand out in traditional golf publications and to appeal to younger golfers.

The ads are meant to make the viewer think the shoe is crammed with technology. So much in fact, the viewer should almost feel as if the shoes are surreal...or supernatural. But technology is useless without purpose, so all the technology is tied back to the most important feature of the shoe, and the most important feature of a great golf swing: stability.

Ads shown here were part of a custom insert published in Golf World Magazine about the most drivable par fours on tour—a strategic media buy that further connects the product feature of stability to the benefit of driving a par four.</description>

Role: Creative Director/Art Director

Responsibilities: Creative direction of program concept and deliverables. Art direction. Client pitch and presentations.

Description: To motivate their dealer network, Harley-Davidson asked us to concept some themes for the 2010 dealer incentive program. The program was to run for 6 months with both monthly prizes for Sales Managers and Sales Staff and one grand prize per district at the end of the six months. The grand prize was an all-expense-paid trip to Milwaukee to visit headquarters and to participate in an exclusive dealer event. In addition to the items show here, monthly gift card holders and emails were sent out to winners and to motivate dealers throughout the length of the program.

Kit received a regional silver Addy award and the Neenah PAPERWORKS Gold award.</description>

Client: Volkswagen Certified Pre-Loved Vehicles (VW CPL)

Role: Creative Director/Art Director

Responsibilities: Creative direction of themed promotion, awards, logistics and communications. Client presentations and shirt design selections.

Description: After the idea to partner Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. with the t-shirt design social network Threadless floated around our offices for many months I decided to bring it to our clients. However, since branded t-shirt design competitions at Threadless are called "Loves," I thought it would better fit both brands to have the certified pre-owned division of VW sponsor the event. Affectionately named Certified Pre-Loved instead of pre-owned, the theme for the competition became glaringly obvious and the promotion, Threadless Loves Pre-Loved, was born. 

But this promotion was larger than just a shirt design competition. The idea was born out of the need for a loyalty program for the VW CPL vehicle owners. The concept is simple, just because you're an owner, here's an awesome shirt! So, we promoted the competition to a list of 25k+ owners through various print and email communications and gave away free shirts with promo codes.

The response from both the design community and our clients was overwhelming. Chris Hoehner, GM, Fleet &#38; Certfied Pre-Owned Sales at Volkswagen of America said, "This is probably the most branded promotion we [VW CPL] has ever done." He was so excited about the promotion he immediately offered to give away a VW CPL vehicle to the winner (see the winner and his free car above). A prize that Bob Nanna from Threadless said was their largest giveaway to date. The promotion received lots of attention and buzz from the design community with 340+ submissions, a number on the high end of submission for Loves promotions.</description>
