This is my stepfather. He loves the outdoors and spends most of his time outside my house, in the patio. I decided I'd record him for a full day to see the things he does. It was a surprise to me to see he has discovered a new hobby and it's pretty amazing. See for yourself.

I love my stepfather, so much. He's amazingly talented and has a very unexpected mind when it comes to ideas.

"Sebastian" is a Puerto Rican short film by my good friend Delfin Rivera; a joint venture between We.Are.The.Cult Films and Black & White Pictures. The story was written by Delfin Rivera and I (Derek Lee González) shot, edited and directed the photography for the film itself. Once the film is done showcasing at some festivals through out the year, we'll be able to upload it on the web. We'll see how everything goes.

— Full Short Film —

"Sebastian" explores the night between two young spirits while taking part in some past memories brought up by our main protagonist and showcasing the beginning as well as the outcome of those nostalgic experiences with the help of Debora.

My second installation for my "Island" series (first video being Culebron). This video short documents four students (me being the fourth one) and their visit to Vieques, Puerto Rico. It's a synchronized piece of visual art and appreciation towards the island.

In case you don't know about my "Island" series; it's meant to provide a short and visual documentation of the two islands near Puerto Rico: Culebra and Vieques. Check out the Culebra video.

Music: Islands by Young The Giant

This is an un-filtered version; for those of you who want to enjoy the video without the “dusty film” & “old” effect.

This is an artistic and purely visual documentary for my latest film class. Our task was to document USC's (my college) old chapel which is still being repaired for modern day use.

The documentary is just meant to be artistic and abstract, it has no dialogue. It's about the mixture between the beauty of the chapel itself and the construction equipment and traces that surround it.

2010 was a huge year for me and my company, Black & White Pictures; and I mean, HUGE. I worked with so many people and clients, and I had the great chance to showcase some of my films in real theaters. I learned and experimented with new editing techniques and I got to share my ideas with more people than ever.

Special and huge thanks to everybody who worked with me this year and to all of those who always supported my work. 2010 was amazing for me and my passion. 2011 will be even better. Get ready.

This is an hour long documentary about 10 missionaries who went to Haiti for one goal and one goal only, help. We got it all on film. Black & White Pictures presents "TENT CITIES". Five days in Haiti.

NOTE: This documentary is in Spanish and has no subtitles for English viewers, some scenes are spoken in English and do explain what's going on but the main text and dialogue for the film is in Spanish. We're currently working on the subtitles.

Shot and Directed by Andres Figueroa and Sammy Figueroa. Co-Directed and Edited by Derek Lee González

Footage from the UPR Strike Concert, different bands, supporters, educators and actors came to this event to show solidarity for the students who are defending their rights at the University of Puerto Rico. Our Puerto Rican government plans to privatize this public University, the students of course, think differently.

Some weeks back I was planning on making a new video, entirely different from what I usually do and that it would stimulate the brain but at the same time please it with images and sounds that go perfect together. This is the result. I filmed this footage today in just two minutes, including the glares. It's short but heavily surprising. I'm very satisfied with the way my taste in style has changed.

This video is truly inspired by chaos, madness and the way our brain stimulates impacting visuals.

This video is inspired by all the "10 Secrets" videos that everyone is doing around Tumblr. People in those videos used notes to express their secrets/cute things, but I changed it up a lil' bit. This short took me almost 5 hours to edit but I absolutely love the results.

I decided to edit some new footage I recently shot on my way to Miami. I wanted to try something new, this is an experiment that slowly evolved into something I've never done before.
