The Donor’s Choose Social Hackathon was a unique one-day event that brought together thinkers from across the digital space to think about and debate how to improve DonorsChoose.org’s success. The full-day brainstorm generated a lot of valuable content and I helped turn it all into an e-book and website so other non-profits could learn from the “hackathon” as well.

Photo Dojo uses the Nintendo DSi’s camera to allow users to put themselves into a side scrolling fighting game. To promote the game launch in the US we developed a microsite that captured the fun and the do-it-yourself feel of the game. To guide people through the process, we also created an “everyman” sensei, played by myself, who provided users with resources for creating their game.

This purposed Genzyme site redesign helps Genzyme share its history of innovation and compassion. The site is built around the personal stories of the people they have helped and the innovators who work there. The structure and experience allows users to connect with Genzyme through the personal stories and give them a greater appreciation for the work Genzyme does to help the world.

I led the interaction design and information architecture efforts for the 2008 McKinsey Quarterly redesign. The project created a new modern and open design which incorporated new technologies, exposed greater depth and breadth and surfaced multimedia content. I was also an integral part of the business strategy, requirement, functional specifications and QA efforts. The custom CMS and design were scalable and allowed multiple language editions including Chinese.

The MoMA asked us to develop their first iPad app to coincide with their Abstract Expressionist New York exhibit. We gave them an award winning app that set the standard for museum iPad apps. The app serves an educational tool to experience the exhibit at home, prepare to experience the exhibit and help remember and share the exhibit after a visit.
